Booked a Prodrive driving day through Haddocks Subaru couple of months ago, it was due to take place on wednesday the 6th June, got a letter on fri 1st saying sorry the date has changed its now on tuesday 5th we hope you can attend please call us to let us know if your attending, so we change the hotel booking, change the dates the dog is in the kennels, change the two days holiday from work we had booked. Got up on monday morning phoned Haddocks and said yep we will be there, Set off for Warwick, arrived at hotel very nice, went for a drive then thought we would go and check out exactly where Prodrive Warwick was, five minutes from hotel fantastic, then it all went wrong!
Security guard on gate asked if we were ok said yeh just checking where it is for driving day on tues, he looked at us funny and said erm its been cancelled[:$]. We thought it was a joke! But it was not. [:'(]
Several phone calls later it turns out that on thursday 31st evening Subaru UK pulled the plug on the day as not enough people (only 23 out of 60) could attend. Thing is they could not find a phone number for us so we did not get told! So no additional letter was sent![:@] Lots of half cock stories about what had happened and we are sorry etc etc. Thing is here we are out of pocket and in Warwick for no reason. [:|]
Eventually got some sense from Kevin Haddock at Haddocks Subaru, who kindly offered to refund the hotel cost, fuel cost, kennels cost, track day cost and give us 2 free places on a track day later in the year [Y][] Thank you Mr Haddock we appreciate your help and the refunds.
So the only dent in the pocket was the large bar bill we ran up drowning our sorrows!!![]
