If you're desperate to find a car to play with at the weekend you can figure out why mine is stuttering so badly above 0.7 bar

Ideally I think you'd want to take it out for the weight saving and put a shorter belt on to bypass the compressor - one of my friends did similar in his FTO for the extra power & weight loss. Dunno if it made a difference or not though!

the shopping list has oil temp & pressure gauges, a new boost gauge (to match the others) plus knocklink and dawes AFR. All costs money though so I'll just have to do it in stages Service is the next thing though, gonna get everything done (bar the cambelt) so that's not gonna be cheap :S

I am Mr Paranoid I've spoken to the bloke who does the map and he seems to know what he's on about, so I'm happy my engine isn't about to blow up - I mentioned the mods and he said it was fine, his was with similar mods on the same map.

It's an early 96 so it's an STi 2 rather than 3, Type RA vLtd. I've got a chip arriving from aus which maps for 16psi (mine is currently 12psi) and 97 SUL. They reckon it gives an extra 30-40bhp on a standard WRX on crap fuel. Mine was last dyno'd at 250bhp at the wheels and 280 at the crank(ish, have the graph at home), so I should be putting out around 280 at the wheels and over 300 at the crank with a bit of luck

can it be used? course it can, a drag strip is only a 1/4 mile long! 450bhp won't make you go any faster, it'll just get you to the rev limiter in 5th (or 6th, if only) a whole lot quicker!

Avon ZZ3's - £272 inc VAT & del from mytyres.co.uk + £40 fitting = £310ish The same, supplied and fitted by discount wheel & tyres is £425!! (not that I'd buy avons... not seen very impressive results from them!) And they said they wouldn't fit my tyres if I brought them in as they're loosing too much money - w***3rs! Anyone know somewhere on the island that will fit tyres? If I bring em in cos I'm not paying £100 over the odds.

Loads of scoobies and other jap cars, we have regular meets and I've only ever been stopped once by the cops (I was going a bit quick- going back to douglas by the cat sanctuary for the locals ) and he didn't even give me a producer! Can I ask why?
