  1. Yeh its not bad for its age, If i could afford it, it would be full drift spec, but I may have to settle for a nice set of wheels and a slightly improved rear spoiler for now. power wise its not to bad, its got a exedy uprated clutch with light and ballanced flywheel, walbro fuel pump, full apexi gt spec exhaust system, apexi induction kit with full heat shield, uprated plugs, and a horshams development stage 1 ecu. probs enough power for a rear wheel drive untill i learn to drive it a bit better lol. Paddy.
  2. Cheers, Ian is one of the most genuine people I have ever bought a car from, he had a tear in his eye when he took me for a test drive in it, sort of reminded me of how I felt when I sold the impreza. you may see him in my Focus with my private plate still on it, still to get that back when the new v5s come through as there was no quick way of doing it to do the deal, Say him to him from me m8 cheerz Paddy.
  3. Sure did m8, What garage do you work at? Ian works for bmw now, maybe the same garage as your self!! He looked after it well, the only thing I have had to do to it is replace the rear dampers, got 2 new bushes on order for the front and a new drivers door lower hinge,
  4. Ello all, Got myself another car sorted, but its not an impreza this time, think im going to have a break from them for a while, so bought this, its great fun and reliable and its not shy with the stage 1 upgrades done.
  5. That must be the strangest thing ive ever heard, replacing the cars in the drive before they take of with the scoob how considerate of the thief/theifs. Anyway I hope the basterds are caught. If u had people viewing the car when its been up for sale, could it be somone from there, or sombody with knowledge of your movements and the way round your house!! Totally sickining to think what could have happend especially with the kids in the house.
  6. Nice one Brian, what was wrong with the exhaust? it passed last year like that.
  7. Good to hear its still going strong and trouble free Brian, Cant bellieve its been a year already, id imagine it would have sailed through its mot, in my 3 years of ownership I never had the geo done and it never rubed a tyre up the wrong way, did it require any adjustment. Padro.[]
  8. Peter let the list grow and evolve, lets keep names and times from past and present on the list, as they say the more the merrier[]
  9. Cheers Jason, myself and the guys always enjoy getting our teeth in to somthing different, probs the best brake set up I have seen on a classic
  10. as above or pick the best[] AWD MOTORSPORT in Perth 01738 633336 www.awdmotorsport.co.uk
  11. Best to get the flywheel skimed when fitting a new clutch, normally about £40 charge for this at AWD, so if its not sliping just get saving for an nice helix organic number for when it starts to go!!
  12. Or 1. Disconect the small hose that goes from the H/T to the rad (highest point of rad) at the rad end. 2. Fill Via H/T whilst keeping finger over the hose, when coolant comes out the rad pop the hose back on. 3. Continue to fill via the header tank untill a couple of cm from the top. 4. With rad cap left of, set the heater and fan controlls to medium and start car. 5. Allow the car a few mins for hot air to start to come through the fans, keep checking for this as you keep an eye on the level in the header tank and top up a little when required. 6. As the hot air is now coming through the fans, and the level in the H/T is stable with no air bubles be expelled, its safe to put the rad cap on. Job Done.

  14. Like the man says best with Bosch thats what AWD stock.
  15. I think there could be two ways to spell that word lol, []
  16. Ciaran that will be the red diesel you get off Pete from the farm thats damaging your car lol, did he not tell you its for agricultural use [] Only kojing m8!! Hope ya get the car sorted soon Paddy
  17. Im not an expert/specialist yet. I have compleated a City & guilds Qualification and i am lucky enough to get work experience with some of the best Subaru tec's around. And I tend to practice what is taught to me by much more qualifed and experienced tec's, and not what someone read or heard in the pub!! Maybe MYTH is the wrong word to use and MEASURABLE would be better, As I would be very interested to find out the measurable damage caused by not doing this procedure of disconecting the crank sensor and removing plugs ect. When a straight forward oil change is involved and the Engine has not been flushed, I dont think the gallerys will be dry and neither will the space between the big-end journals and the con-rod big-end bearings, they migh not be suported by oil pressure imediatly but thats just the same as having your car sitting for a period of time before starting it up. When the engine has been flushed or in the extreme case of an engine rebuild then different procedures are required before starting it up. Grant your Skills are wasted and I would not like to get Philosophical with you after a few j's lol[] Paddy
  18. Things are good Brian, Hows that 75/90 in the rear diff doing[] Cheers Brian, on way to inbox now
  19. Johnny is that from experience or pub talk?, AWD MOTORSPORT use Millers crx 75/90 in gearbox and rear diff, which has been very succesfull over the last 8 years and thousands of scoobys later, I used to use it on my own scooby, which was always running very very well.
  20. Yeh Gus Millers cfs 10w/60 for the engine and Millers crx 75w/90 for the rear diff and gearbox, Give AWD a call they have this stuff in stock and will sell you the quantity required. Paddy
  21. AWD MOTORSPORT in Perth have them in stock, 01738 633336 www.awdmotorsport.co.uk
  22. Think its a bit of myth, just make sure you prefill the filter before you put it on. may take a few pours as the oil settles down inside the filter, new sump plug washer and about 4.5 ltr of oil. once the engine has been run for a few seconds key off and check level, it may require a slight top up. Do you remove the remove the crank sensor or disconect it in the morning when your car has been siting all night and all the oil has drained in to the sump? its just pub talk that one! Millers 10/40 or 10/60 if you like to drive it that bit harder, tend to stick with 10/60 on modifed or sti in general. Paddy

  24. Alright M8, it was good to meet you and your wife today, The Traffic police were defo out to fill there we black book today, and luckly I had been driving about with the window down when they pulled me over. Nice grey are that one, " officer I have been driving about with my window down" or I would be looking at 6 points as you say. They were not happy when they did not get a conviction today thats for sure, whats more anoying is the Civic type R and X5 that were in the vicinity when I got pulled, both had windows as black as there paint work but they seemed invisable to the traffic police. Catch ya next time your down for some mods. Paddy.
