Is this a wind up? Pocket full of money and a list of mods and nobody spoke to you? Apoligies if that was the case, all the AWD lads were out and about mingling today myself included, carrying out free diagnostics for sidc members and genrall chat, it was a great day with one of the bigest turn outs for the first open day of the year. With totall impreza magazine getting some great shots of punters cars for the next edition. Did you introduce yourself to Grant, Andy or any of the tecs? or indeed any of the fellow owners All the lads I know from SIDC are a great bunch and welcome new owners with open arms, Come along to the next one and make yourself know Cheers Paddy

Yh it is worth a look, the only problem being that he said it is keeped in a secure car park, centre of Glasgow, it has no tax and is not insured, so a test drive is out of the window unless i foot the bill to get a days cover note and tax the car so i can take it for a drive. a lot of dicking about and theres no where there to test drive the car proberly and check it over, the other thing i didnt like was the story of it having only one set of keys, very common for cars to disapeare after you buy them with only one set of keys, The wife has told me to give it a wide swerve, however i thought id do some reserch in to it ect, i emailed him and said get the car legal and meet me somwhere where i can check it over and test drive it properly and surpise surpise i have had no response, In previous emails he said "its legal enough for you to drive it round the car park" lol like it buy it after driving it round a car park. Anyway if he gets back to me fair enough if not probs rumbled a scam of some sort Paddy

I think the car was advertised on pistonheads just after christmas then removed after a few weeks, The guy may be genuine and here is the only other pics he sent me,
-
Its a nice looking scooby alright, I had cash in the hand the other day and was getting ready to arrange a viewing, Then a few things put me off, the guy says hes a member on here but not been on much latley, I have never come across him on here to my knowledge. He has aparantly owned it for 7 years so I thought he might be known to the comunity, would just like to know if he is genuine or not.

Very True guys, Spec d very nice but out of the range of the pennys in my pocket m8. However was in talks with a guy about this car, was wandering if anybody knows it or its owner who is Gerard McCarthy from Glasgow, (merchant city area)

Hi guys is it just me or is there a panic at the moment with people puting there impreza up for sale, I have been looking for one recently again as I miss my last one, and have been monitering the small adds, there is 10 a day or more getting added to pistonheads and almost 15 in the last 4 hours. This could be a sign of the credit crunch which is on its way, think I might just hold off for a bit and see how the market goes Paddy.

Very sad loss of life, my thoughts go out to the family's and friend's, Gone but never forgotten!!
-
Steve the winters are going to be lots of fun lol, and fai maybe just maybe if i turn the boost up a little ill take it up the strip!! Coll it sure was me you spoted, you must have been undercover m8 as i never seen ya, hope i was behaving lol
-
Yeh its not bad for its age, If i could afford it, it would be full drift spec, but I may have to settle for a nice set of wheels and a slightly improved rear spoiler for now. power wise its not to bad, its got a exedy uprated clutch with light and ballanced flywheel, walbro fuel pump, full apexi gt spec exhaust system, apexi induction kit with full heat shield, uprated plugs, and a horshams development stage 1 ecu. probs enough power for a rear wheel drive untill i learn to drive it a bit better lol. Paddy.

Cheers, Ian is one of the most genuine people I have ever bought a car from, he had a tear in his eye when he took me for a test drive in it, sort of reminded me of how I felt when I sold the impreza. you may see him in my Focus with my private plate still on it, still to get that back when the new v5s come through as there was no quick way of doing it to do the deal, Say him to him from me m8 cheerz Paddy.
-
Sure did m8, What garage do you work at? Ian works for bmw now, maybe the same garage as your self!! He looked after it well, the only thing I have had to do to it is replace the rear dampers, got 2 new bushes on order for the front and a new drivers door lower hinge,
-
Ello all, Got myself another car sorted, but its not an impreza this time, think im going to have a break from them for a while, so bought this, its great fun and reliable and its not shy with the stage 1 upgrades done.
-
That must be the strangest thing ive ever heard, replacing the cars in the drive before they take of with the scoob how considerate of the thief/theifs. Anyway I hope the basterds are caught. If u had people viewing the car when its been up for sale, could it be somone from there, or sombody with knowledge of your movements and the way round your house!! Totally sickining to think what could have happend especially with the kids in the house.

Nice one Brian, what was wrong with the exhaust? it passed last year like that.
-
Good to hear its still going strong and trouble free Brian, Cant bellieve its been a year already, id imagine it would have sailed through its mot, in my 3 years of ownership I never had the geo done and it never rubed a tyre up the wrong way, did it require any adjustment. Padro.[]

Peter let the list grow and evolve, lets keep names and times from past and present on the list, as they say the more the merrier[]

Best to get the flywheel skimed when fitting a new clutch, normally about £40 charge for this at AWD, so if its not sliping just get saving for an nice helix organic number for when it starts to go!!

Or 1. Disconect the small hose that goes from the H/T to the rad (highest point of rad) at the rad end. 2. Fill Via H/T whilst keeping finger over the hose, when coolant comes out the rad pop the hose back on. 3. Continue to fill via the header tank untill a couple of cm from the top. 4. With rad cap left of, set the heater and fan controlls to medium and start car. 5. Allow the car a few mins for hot air to start to come through the fans, keep checking for this as you keep an eye on the level in the header tank and top up a little when required. 6. As the hot air is now coming through the fans, and the level in the H/T is stable with no air bubles be expelled, its safe to put the rad cap on. Job Done.
