  1. Looking good Quentin.

The Sport has the honour offf being one of the best handling Impreza. All the 4wd traction but no Turbo means that it handles very well.

MY96 is the model with the early dash, without the digital milometer??? (If not I have a set UK Turbo clocks for the Forester Dash. (MY99/00))

Have you sorted out the problem with the car????

  2. LOL,

I can see how that got out of hand. Simple misinterpretation.

SIDC and Kent Scoobies are not the same entity. We have an agreement with SIDC to have a Kent Scoobies forum on their site. Essex Scooby Crew and some other independent clubs made a similar agreement with Scoobynet.

Granby is the official 'SIDC' Regional Organiser for the Kent area. If you look on the SIDC site, you will see that most 'regions' have one.

Pele 'was' the Kent Scoobies 'Chairperson/Organiser - whatever you want to term it' and her remit is 'local' events.

Split roles were agreed on that basis, with Granby organising attendance to SIDC scheduled events, monitoring this site on behalf of SIDC and Pele organising 'KS' events like rolling roads etc....

I appreciate if no-one ever told you, you could (easily) jump to the wrong conclusion.

  3. I also think Granby would do the job proud.

As would Jay in my opinion....

It takes time (a lot of time - and 50% usually wasted effort) to organise large meetings and a thick skin for when some people winge about the most stupid and minute things. - Ask Phil or Tiny.

Not everyone would have the patience.

I think Pele deserves some gratitued for doing it for so long. One of her Legacies (Subaru pun not intended) is this very forum, which would not be here if KS had not struck a deal with the SIDC.

  4. oi oi very nice :D

    Thanks,

It actually looks better in the pics, than close up.

The two prior owners tracked it, so no carpets interior panets etc which makes it look a bit worn. I got brand new ones for £150 but ill only put them in for non-track days.

It was also sold cheap as the guy thought the engine was fubar, but ist just a top end tap, which I think its just tappets.

Bit thanks to Deaniage though, he drove me up there with his trailer to collect it. The guy is a true gent. ;)

Once I get the engine sorted, Ill begin stripping the front end for some cleaining and repainting of the chassis.

I think three of us have these now?? ScoobyHoo and Dean have one.

  5. Spotted a P1 boxing day morning, with an 'SLO' number plate, going up the An towards bluewater.

Coming back to Kent from Essex (still with may valve caps attached :D ), I spied a Bugeye WRX with silver team ice stickers in traffic on the M25. I the followed it doe the A2/M2 until I truthed off for the A229.

  6. He should get a good deal on it when he trades it in for one of thoses mobo-karts.

I wont tell him you said that!! :driving:

Im looking at getting open top car for track days, until this credit crunch is over and I can splash out on a replacement for the Scoob.

Got a local mate trying to tempt me with a stripped out GTI6, but im not sure...

  8. Get some thinnish rubber tube and stick a metal rod in one end.

Stick the other end to your ear and touch the rod to the side of the engine in various places. It works like a stethascope and allows you identify where the noise is withoit getting your ear ripped off.

  9. Have you gotten used to the fuel gauge on the motorway yet Simon.

It goes down to Zero after a 100miles of constant driving. But if you slow down and stop it goes up to half way!! :D

Benefit of separate tanks each side of the diff.

  10. I know him thru the MLR, I've been to a couple of meets and have offered our services! lol. He's a nice guy.

Oh yeah, he's a good bloke. Bought my last RWD Escort off me too.

Just among close mates, he is known as being a bit 'inconsiderate' of his engines when cold. :D

Start it up and rev it high straight away - sort of thing. :P

That's why he goes through them. The current one is apparently rattling.

  11. It's not Lee is it?

It is Mr B. You know him too? If you do anything with Mitsi's round here, I imagine you would.

I have been a member of the MLR for longer than him, as well. Some of our other mates were MLR members long before the EVO became popular. It was all about the Rwd Lancer Turbo 2000 then. - Looked like a taxi, but went like stink!!

    Different scene there now though.
