I have contacted Xtreme who asked me to post the following
“It’s always disappointing to receive feedback like this especially when Xtreme as a garage prides itself on honesty, commitment to the customer & attention to detail. Xtreme have serviced this particular car since 2005, with a minimum of 15 services or visits to us. Whilst, there is no excuse to have nuts only “finger tight” on the diff housing unit.
The diff unit was securely held in place with, 6 upright bolts & the prop shaft in situ, there was never any eventuality of the diff being able to move from its current location & causing any issue. At the time of fitment, the additional spacing joints that had been attempted to be put in place created additional load, which in turn needed an additional person to assist in the fitting of the diff.
As for comments of not seeming bothered, when you have children, family, bills, mortgages & food to pay for – all coming from a business that is very much in the public eye & all so easily posted on internet forums around the World in minutes. As individuals in the business, of course, we understand the impact this can have on us & that is why so much time is spent on ensuring each & every car leaves here with a clean bill of health. In the last 6 years of business over 6500 services have been carried out, with no issues & only positives comments – something that a “care free garage” could never hope to achieve.”
Knowlsey is also going to try and contact Ian directly
