I've read both threads Andy and i don't see where your coming from mate. What tactics ??. As far as i can see the guy is only looking for a bit of friendly advice about the situation.(i'd have done the same). Maybe the dealer should have explained everything to the guy before he left the garage. Customer service ? Anyway, I hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction buddy

It's easy enough to do John, take off the drivers side wheel..peel back the arch lining and remove the resonator box..it helps draw in cold air from the inner wing and i think most people then fit some kinda pipe work from the front bumper to the hole that's left to insure a cold air feed. As to the dangers with this modification, i'm not so sure.. or haven't heard of any to date..

So your obviously sticking with the top mount Jim .. Any plans to get a bigger scoop ? I've got an STi 8 i/c for the new one (when it comes) but Andy reckons a larger scoop would complement it.... can't say i like the idea mind..
