  2. have heard something of the same too not sure if what i've heard is correct likes but it was something like animal fat/product mixed in with the salt and chemicals that was being spread on the roads
  3. i had a bailey one at first and found it was pretty bad at motorway speed (70 ish) as it would leak and sound like it was just on the boil (if you know what i mean) now have a hks one fitted and you can get away with out it giving the pphhhhhhssssssst at lower rpm as it has a sronger spring and is suited for higher boost

  6. can your funds allow you to run two cars ??? thats what i've done, i do a 60 mile round trip and bought a golf driver 1.6 for this get pretty good milage as well, scoob 200 miles to a tanks of V power and golf got 400 ish to any old fuel but then i got bored of the golf and bought a 1994 BMW 525 tdse auto diesel so now, not only do i have the scoob and golf i also have a bmw too so will be looking to sell the golf for around the 500 mark
  7. your quite right, you do have a right to say what you want and when you want the only trouble is when people start talking about places of work, start to point fingers and make comments that can land the web site in trouble. if the information is correct, which andy was asking about, then as seen above, the post and relevant information is left alone, if slanderous then the post may be removed this is so the site can remain running for all of us to use and not just to try and hack people off
  8. quite a few people from this area have the same feeling about this guy Andy, it's just the way he is to potential customers, he'll pre judge what HE thinks you can afford and will not tell you what he wants for the car in question. a lot of folk which were willing, and had more than ample cash waiting, were told that they 'wouldnt be able to afford anything in his showroom' this sort of thing has not just happened once or twice, seems to happen quite often i'm sorry to say the mechanic may well be very good, as i have been told quite good things about his work. as for the other bloke

  10. was thinking that on that age and miles that the 10/60 could be a wee bit too heavy on the oil pump and the like me, i would stick to the 10/40 unless things have been upgraded

  12. went down to SSO this year and had a ferkin ace larf it was a bit damp though but just made it more interesting on the handling track it was also on the day after a track day at knockers, you would think that calsberg had a hand in that weekend am interested in the sso again likes, not sure if my scoob would be in contention for the totb i'll be under the Scottish Scoobies banner, no us and them

  14. have worked on there quite a few times over the years but the last time would of been about 5 or so years ago joy of joy to be going away offshore on thursday to the Claymore looks like offshore chrimble food for me
