S.I.D.C OPENDAY SAT 11TH SEPTEMBER @AWD MOTORSPORT PERTH
johns replied to swanie's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Seems like the best option Grant Hope to see you there. John -
Hi Jools, was looking at those last night, but not sure I've got enough width in the upstarirs lobby to fit it. Might be quite tight. Will re-check tonight, and measure, and if it's OK, then I'll get one of those. Half the price of the onces in Jewsons etc. for the same thing! John

For only £25, you may as well counht me in as well John PS Had a look around at lunchtime whilst out shopping for Loft ladders etc. Looks like a very impressive piece of kit and set-up!

Grant, why don't you take the diagnostic kit (and the tea and biscuits along to Knockhill on the 11th, and do the morning session there. Might be able to drum up a bit of business with flyers etc ? John -
No problems John, see you next year or perhaps later this year if there's enough interest John

The wheels will fit just fine (and look great!) on a classic, it's just the tyres that won't fit. If you can find a buyer for the tyres (even at a knock-down price), then you'll have a cheat set of top-quality alloys for your car! John

Quality, not quantity counts this time, but sometimes you want it the other way around....

SIDC goes to the Fast & Modified Scottish Power Show, 15th August
johns replied to jacqui_robb's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Glad you made it along Daz Can't attach photos to this thread, so see the one in general under WR1 wheels for some photos of the day. I've got lots more to do, but haven't had time yet.... John -
Roll up chaps and chapesses , the last SIDC track event of the year is being held at Knockhill. Usual format of 8am sign on and driver's briefing, 3 warm up groups of about 15 cars each, then an open pit lane until 1pm This event is selling very fast, and at the current rate will be sold out within the next week or so. If you are planning to attend, then I would strongly avoid booking up now to avoid disappointment. As usual, we'll have a great mix of cars taking part, with a variety of Imprezas, Elises, Exiges, Caterfields, and perhaps even the odd Ferrari, TVR and Radical Hope to see you all there. Cheers John

Sorry for the late reply, but Kinghorn Autobody (Blackburn ?) are one of the very best in the area. Expensive, but guaranteed excellent results. John

Hi Daz, sorry - I don't have access outside work hours at the moment with the house move. All you needed to do was turn up before about 10am (when they closed the shutters) and say you had a slot on the SIDC stand. Was looking out for you most of the morning before then, but didn't see you. Hopefully you made it along to the day anyway. I'll post up some photos later. Cheers John -
Billyboy, don't know of any at the moment, but if anyone has an early bugeye WRX to sell, I've got a friend of a friend who is interested... John

Everyone is more than welcome over here No restrictions on what can be posted etc, as long is it's of local relevance. John

Still no mail form you ? I've received lots of mails from other people today, so no problems at my end ? My e-mail address is john@sidc.co.uk. I've got no problems with another car on the stand Been talking to Jools, and we might have a 36 inch plasma screen showing Impeza videos and DVDs, as well as playstation games to attract people to our stand Just hope we can get it all sorted out with the F&M team and the AECC John -

Glad you all enjoyed it Just to say that for those of you thinking of going to the next one on the 11th September, I would book up quickly - places are going very fast!! Lots of people who couldn't make this last one (holidays/McRae stages etc) are making sure they don't miss out. SIDC Shop Cheers John

There are a couple of spaces left this time, so you were lucky To encourage people to book up early, from next year we'll introduce an "Easyjet" type of booking, where the first 5 get it very cheap, next 10 get it cheaper than normal etc, with the last ones to book up paying the most. Cheers John

Sorry for the late reply, but it's taken us a while to get things sorted with them. We now have spaces for 6 cars at this show. First come first served please (two slots already gone to existing thread participants ) John -
Skid Car Training, 2nd week in August. Anyone interested ?
johns posted a topic in Scottish Scoobies
Got some short notice options for Skid Car training in Aberdeen. Quite a few of you on here have done it before at the AECC. Same people, same car, same excellent training, discounted prices : 2nd week in August only, a couple of mid-week dates are available. Got two options: 1) We get a whole day to ourselves as a group - cost roughly £75 per person, and you'll spend approx 40 minutes behind the wheel. Can arrive early, stay late, chat with other owners etc. Can choose any time of the day to get your training on a first come first served basis. 2) There may be a possibility of tagging onto the end of a full day session run for another company. You'll still get the same training/duration, but a reduced cost of about £60. Downsides are that the only slots available are at 4:15pm, and cannot be guaranteed (ie very limited availability, short notice only). Any interest ? We'll need at least 8 people to do the full day option. You can (as some did last year), use your own car in the car park in areas away from the skid training if you want, but only if you have taken part in the training. John -
We've actually had the pax lap stickers for about the previous 4 or 5 events now. Seems to work quite well. Most people stick them in their passenger side window, or the rear in the Elises etc. John

Welcome Malky. See you at Knockhill on the 24th. There are quite a few local members in Ayr, and I'm sure they'll be in touch soon. Alternatively, have a look throuhg some of the posts in here going back 6 months or so. Cheers John
