  1. Can't open the picture you posted!!! Dave
  2. Welcome to the forum mate. I am from the Aberdeen area aswell so hopefully I'll see you at some of the regional meets and have a chat over a pint. Dave
  3. Why do you say OTT without further mods??? The diameter of the induction intake is slightly bigger than standard, coupled with a high flow filter gives loads of cold air. All I can say is that the engine really seems to like it, as she revs so much more freely all the way from idle to the limiter. The kit comes with a BHP increase guarantee, so they must be very confident that it works well. And if it doesn't for some strange reason then they will refund the cost of the kit and the labour for fitting and removing it. Dave
  4. Well I have just had the K&N Typhoon induction kit fitted to the car. Oh my god what a difference - the engine revs so freely now and the recirculating dump valve chatters away on gear shifts. The quality of the kit is first class - I can't fault it at all, everything fitted perfectly. The filter is relocated to the front drivers side wing so no problem with cold air feeds. With the window down you get this wonderful sucking noise on acceleration. Anyway, this is what it all looks like...........engine bay looks empty now. Dave
  5. Howdy Cal, Looks like you guys had loads of fun - jetboating looked a hoot, as did the rafting. We'll have to go out for a run in the scoobies one lunchtime or atleast grab a coffee, as I am getting the K&N Typhoon INduction kit put on the car tomorrow. You got a new exhaust now - new burble??
  6. Sounds good I could pop through for a quick dyno run or two. How many of the Aberdeen contingent are going? Come on guys let yourself be known. Dave
  7. Was it crystal grey or sliver? The Town and County garage are now running an '05 STi with PFF-7's in sliver as a demonstrator at the moment. Dave
  8. << I will come along if i can get out of work in time. Dave I think i might have seen you at lunchtime, were you at the roundabout at the top of wellington road (the one up from shell)? Iain >> You talking about my car? If you are then you are mistaken as to the best of my knowledge my scooby is still in the SHell carpark as of 9am this morning. Maybe time to go a check she is where I left her. Dave
  9. << P.S. Nice set-up you got there clutdav >> Ta very much. Did you notice I followed your instructions on how to post pictures in the thread?? Dave
  10. I have hooked up an ipod adapter to my monitor headunit (single din) so that I can control the ipod off of my headunit. The problem with all the cheap ways of connecting an ipod to your car stereo is that you still have to control the ipod from the ipod - which can be tricky whilst doing 60mph on a back road. At the moment only Pioneer and Alpine do dedicated adapters so if you have one of their headunits you are fine - if not you may need to buy one. All I can say is that I now have 5600 songs in my car and I can control it all from my touch-screen. Plus the sound quality is excellent - the adapter in mine modifies the signal to mimick surround sound. The best £100 I have spent on my stereo. Here is a picture of my set up - the ipod connects in the glovebox to keep it out of sight and protected. It also charges the ipod when the car's ignition is on.
  11. Yep picture would be most helpful. Dave
  12. Looks like it is going to be a great turn out..............................not!
  13. Anyone got any opinions on the Blitz Sonic Induction kit? I really don't know what to go for???? Dave
  14. I might be able to make a quick appearance. I'll need to wait and see. Dave
  15. Anyone got a website with the APS induction kit details??? Thanks again peeps Dave
  16. << Dave, just reading the spec on your car - nice colour, nice spec. >> Thanks very much - I really like the look of the car with the dark anthracite pff-7s. Only one item for the exterior remaining now; the carbon fibre spec-c splitter from Scott Lowe. I just have to make her a little faster now. Oh well then a K&N Typhoon and a remap maybe the way forward. Dave
  17. Thanks for that mate. I had a K&N Typhoon induction kit on my Civic Type R and loved it to bits. I was just trying to suss out the HKS as I fancied a change. By the sounds of things I would be better to stay with the K&N. Thanks for the help everyone. Dave
  18. Welcome the more the merrier is my moto. Dave
  19. Is there a significant increase in induction temperature with using the hks system? And if so is it a big problem? Thanks for the help so far guys it's appreciated. Dave
  20. Hi guys and gals, I was hoping to get some advice from you guys regarding induction kits for my STi Version 9. Does anyone have a HKS Racing Suction Induction kit on their scooby? I am assuming that the HKS induction kit will be good quality and also give some good gains as well - but I was hoping to find out if anyone has any opinions on it! If anyone has other induction kits on and recon I should give them a look please let me know. Thanks and any input would be welcomed. Dave
  21. Would the complete PPP kit fit onto my 05 Sti Version 9? Could potentially be very interested in this???? Dave
  22. What about the Pirelli P Zero Nero. I have these on my prodrive alloys and they are fantastic. Not cheap but they last and give great grip in both the wet and dry. SOmething to think about............. Dave
