  1. Sure, hope you've got plenty of brillo pads???? thats what you use on a black car right? And it rained, very slightly as i was finishing the last panel.... was not happy only rained for 20 seconds.
  2. Ah good little tip, i'll try that next time it plays up. I've also heard that taping the coils up with insulating tape also helps as a temp fix?
  3. The last coil pack you took out whilst doing the spark plugs looked like it had seen better days. Need to add that to the things to buy next then lol. Just about to order 7litres of silkolene sync 5 gear oil and silkolene engine oil. Then was going to bug you about brake pads lol. Maybe i should order coil packs instead As for cleaning the car, you should have seen the dirt inside the exhaust , And i even cleaned the centre section of the exhaust lol. Also what else is there to do when your days off are either monday, tuesday or wednesday
  4. Working friday, typical ah lol. But thank you for the welcome.
  5. Oh long day for you then. If you were about, i was going to see you about that silly plastic panel, nothing major (just looking for an excuse to drive lol). Car's coming along great btw, been following this since the first post. Amazing work.
  6. Hi, are you up at sw auto's tomorrow Jgm?
  7. Thanks for your replys. I get some strange looks now lol, no one's moanes yet. That guy who came out on the night, said he only came outside, because he thought "2fast2furious" was outside LOL.
  8. Those days are lonnnng gone. Paints dangerously thin as it is, imagine t-cutting like i used to.
  9. Started at 10am, finished at 4:30pm. Washed with megs gold class shampoo, using washmit whilst detailing the hard to reach areas with the megs detailing brush. Dried using chamois. Dressed the tyres wit megs hot shine tyre spray, then clayed the entire car, including door shuts, & under bonnet. Polished up the exhaust using megs All metal polysh. Finally used megs 3 stage (paint cleaner, polish, carnuba wax). Tomorrow the interior. Those nur spec's are abit on the sharp side, got so many cuts and grazes now. Dunno if i managed to get some water in the electrics or something, but car misbehaved after cleaning (hunting, popping on idle, dropping revs coming to lights, hesitation, & holding back). Think it likes to be dirty :@ Sorry about the quality of the pics, i wish i could have got hold of a better camera, as the reflection is awsome for a white (pics taken prior to 3 stage though, but still brilliant shine).
  10. Don't really know much about ecu's etc. But i'm going for the simtek route, love the idea of no MAF
  11. sorry to retrieve this post from the dead, but i wanted to ask if it was normal to be recieving a lower mpg than before changing the fuel filter. I have just reset the ecu and only driven for 72miles so i'm guessing it's still in 'Learn' mode. Not had chance to take the car past 3000rpm yet, but there is a huge improvement in low end torque. Thanks
  12. Gets my vote too.
  13. Ah exellent, thanks. I'll give you a call next week sometime. Had one slight issue earlier with the new filter. Just after i filled up, the car cut out (on the forecourt exit ramp lol). I primed the system again, how you said, and it's been fine since. I was very low on fuel before going into the garage, and had to wait for some women to finish doing whatever the hell they do before pulling away. Air in the system from fuel filter maybe?
  14. Happy birthday mate, hope you had a great day.
  15. As promised in the other thread, pics.
  16. H&S are very good, i've got there downpipe. Can't fault it at all.
  17. Fitted a new fuel filter today, as advised by deano. I can't belive just how much better the car runs. Absolutly no hunting, missing, holding back at all. Spool up/down noise is back noisier than ever, and the best thing..... My pops and bangs during gear change have returned. I'm so thankful to deano, for advising me not to buy a new lambda sensor, and try the fuel filter (£6 cured my troubles lol). For the first time since i've owned the car, it doesen't hold back, and miss slightly. Oh one more slightly worrying note, is the amount of black bits that came out of the fuel filter (both the in & out nozzles). Next up, Oil change and brake pads, both need doing soon. Anyone know where i can get a set of pads from? i'm not looking to spend massive amounts on them, as i'm looking to upgrade disks & calipers soon.
  18. The white one would have been Phil Stevens. The chairman of this club.
  19. Just got to love the pink I'll attempt to borrow a camera, soon as i get some spare time. Oh one other thing.... Fuel consumption is about 25% better, i can't believe what kind of mpg i'm getting. But i can't hear my spool up noise anymore. Going to try the bung in the exhaust tonight to see if it's being drowned out. Performance is much better though on a day when the engine is not holding off, it just pulls like a train right from 1500rpm (+ boost pressure at 1500-2000, as to 3500-4000 before).
  20. I put a pink "larkins-autoservices" sticker on my car, they look awsome.
  21. Happy Birthday mate.
  22. Deano, i tried tightening all the pipes like you recomended today, and found 1 jubilee clip is broken on the big main breather. The pipe is very tight though, and seems sealed. Oh and the Pink looks awsome
  23. Hello and welcome to KS.
