I'm Brian, bought a newage WRX in October 2003 - thought of selling on several occasions but never have - great car, totally reliable and not as expensive to run as people believe. 26,000 miles later and still happy

I think 99% I will be there, work dependant. I thought, for some obscure reason when I checked weeks ago it was my mum's birthday - it is the 7th of November - at least it rhymes with September!!!
See you all then, especially the new Billyboy machine!

Ally with the RB5 (user name 2559B) has recently moved to Airdrie - there is another thread (recent) which is about the same topic.

I paid 101.9 yesterday for Optimax. Terrible, but you can't put a price on enjoyment.

I think Bush has handled the situation quite poorly - the reaction to September 11th was MUCH better, yet he says this is far worse in his opinion than that - Billyboy - your description of him is quite accurate. He is as fake as they come.
How is the new STI doing????
Brian.

Billyboy - come in Billyboy!!

It was 101.9 for Optimax tonight -

I have not done it myself, it just looked like an OK piece of kit in the magazine.
There seemed to be a variety of stage of kit - the smaller kit may also be used for mild regassing I think, the bigger kit was for drain down and full regas I think.
Good luck.
Brian.

Halfords sell a kit made by Comma (I think it is) - a full reghassing kit with pipework, pressure gauge etc. Also they have smaller regassing kits too to help recharge. Full kit was £30 odd quid IIRC.
Seen it in Auto Express a few weeks ago.

1st one - try someone like Glenburgie subaru or any other subaru specific breakers - do search here.
2nd one - you need to go to profile and look near the bottom where you can upload an avatar of your choosing or select one of the hundreds already available for you on the site.
3rd one - you will be a newbie, not based on time, but your use of the forum - ie number of posts. Once you get above 100 posts I think you then become a regular - but maybe it is 199???
Anyone know better on the last one.
Hope that helps.

NOTHING looks cooler in the car than Defi BF's - they are the business.
One day I dream of watching the startup procedure everyday....
then jumping in the other car and going to work

Yep - custom built exhausts are the way to go, for sure. Built to a standard and not to a cost.
-
Good luck Dougs - hope it shifts soon for you - at a bargain price too. If I were looking for a wagon I'd consider this. This is one of the best looking classic wagons I've seen - and I'm not particularly into wagons...

I had all round Pentagon light smoke (front) and dark smoke rear when I bought my car from the dealer. When the law changed, about 6 months after I got the car, I had the front removed and clear Supaglass applied. The light levels were fine through the tints to see day and night, BUT there was no doubt they would breach any existing law.
I still have the rears and back window (jap look) but it is really not worth the hassle getting them done on a car - it definately is the new chav accessory and I won't be getting them done again - may even remove the ones I have on. Always were for pimps but numpties in any old car getting them because they're "cool" is not for me
And I'd be interested to know out of the people who have them, especially on the front, declare them and whether at the correct total percentage tint.

He was interviewed on the rallying on ITV on Sunday afternoon and it was announced then.
Will be interesting but he said he is aiming for the top 10 drivers, maybe the top 6. He will be off the pace (as he admits) compared to the likes of Loeb and many of the other drivers.

Elephant/Admiral always come up trumps for me - I switch between them every year. All mods declared, all accidents, etc.

Taking into account initial buying cost, HUGE depreciation, modifications, servicing and maintenance, insurance, road tax and other sundries, fuel is a small part of the cost.
People who sell it based on fuel economy generally do not think of this - they are glad to take a hit of £8000 depreciation when they sell to save a couple of hundred worth of fuel each year - often a no brainer.
Yes, there are cheaper cars to own and run, but if fuel economy is SO important, then they should have bought a diesel Mundano in the first place.
RANT OVER
Brian.
We had work. NOW..whats your car?
