Heading up on Friday for the day and looking forward to both the drive and the fishing. Has anyone fished it recently or regularly? I'm looking for the river's recent form and any particular tackle tips / local flies if poss. Oh, and any information on "monitored" bits of road on the A83 / A85 : Dumbarton to Bridge of Orchy and back via Inverary would be gladly received. Not that I'll get much chance, but sometimes when stuck in a queue the temptation gets to you. K.

Och, welcome to the nadir of your universe : the A82. Tragick-a-Plenty. Stick to the Duke's Pass and there-on into Callandar or up the A85 towards Loch Earn. After that watch out for the the unmarked cops on motor-bikes and Revenue Generators. It's simple really, no-one's out to get you if you only drive at 60 mph. K.

Cannae mind Dougs, it was going the opposite way and I was driving a RWD Volvo 940 est. at the time (fecking tank, but not as slow as folk think!). And it corners like a sponge. The motor had a scoop and looked like a turbo, and a nice one at that. May have been P1 wheels, but don't quote me on that. Maybe one of our Southern Members up on hols? K.

Not my speciality I'm afraid. Isn't it the case though that cars with fuel injection don't have carbs? Dunno what your motor has in this way; I'd be looking at the ECU if it's directly injected perhaps. If you're lucky, you can get one off a Scrappie. K.

Bear in mind it'll be be choccers with touroids with caravans and Traffick Polis. Also the odd illiterate & disorientated G8 wonker. Not much room for bhp. Maybe best to go early morn? Sorry, I'll not be available (other duties), just offering my opinion as a semi-local. K.

Just to close things out in case in the near future another prospective Impreza owner is checking possibilities out by surfing recent F/S threads. My mate has just picked up Andy-P's car. To say he is over the moon would be an understatement of colossal proportions. I still haven't seen it yet but will do soon.
