  1. No, just the standard 2 pots good enough for the job. Only prob is the type r has no abs and with brakes this good you have to watch you dont lock up, had a couple of hairy moments!
  2. Dont know how they fit on, but my classic has them and they are bloody good[]
  3. To be honest i prefered the forrester, obviously would keep the type r too though! That grey colour is minging too.
  4. Nice pics, could of brought mine along and got another colour!
  5. That was me[] Was yours the Blue one with the short number plate, was parked in paddock for a while? Saw my old White wagon there today too, didnt get a chance to speak to the new owner...prob just aswell, not sure he would like to know the history!
  6. Another Sunday another Hot hatch (aka banger racing!) A couple of brave soles lapping in a Newish BMW M3 and a Porsche Cayanne S! an odd sight seeing a huge 4x4 coming down duffus but seriously quick on the straights. A couple of track prepared scoobs on too but mainly the usual dodgy looking 205's, Astras, cavaliers etc. I had a couple of paxlaps with Andy ( baldyadonis) in his dodgy old cavalier[] Seriously scary cornering and late braking going on. First time i have been in a car running slicks, what a difference. Just aswell with the way Andy was driving, your a nutter! spent more time on 2 wheels than 4! Andys Cavalier and his mates XR2 getting very close! Track prepared Scoobs Brave M3 Driver with £50 XR2 about to rear-end him! A very quick fiesta.. Proper race Cossie was giving it large all day One less Nova on the road! Col.

  8. Good second hand car?...mmm...the jury is still out on that.
  9. Try a plant hire company, I was in HSS Tool hire in Inverness last year getting some tools and they had a DB Meter for hire, the bloke gave me a wee shot of it in car park! 99.5db at 4000 rpm[] http://www.hss.com/index.php?f=links/links.php
  10. Cheers Raymondo...will give it a good tug tomorrow[]
  11. Tried to remove central cubby pocket thing on dash earlier. Fitting gauge pod and wanted to remove the whole thing to look underneath before I attack it with drill! Took the 2 screws out at each side under lid, also removed 2 screws from around cup holder although I dont think I had to. The back seems loose but is still very well attached around the heater grilles. Anybody help? Col.

  14. [] What an old munter!
  15. Now I have my car back I was thinking about getting it re-mapped for uk fuel. My queries are- Can standard ECU be remapped? If not would I need to purchase an Apexi pfc or is it Ecutek for my car ( 1999 V5 STI Type r ). Would it be daft to have it remapped for normal unleaded? I asume i would loose a lot of power doing this. If remapped for optimax is it ok to run on BP ultimate? trying to find a Shell garage all the time is a pain. How much is it to get a remap done? er...sure theres something else but cant remember now! Col.
  16. The aim as i said is to cover the ground at a navigational pace to look around. Navigational pace? aye right! If i stayed closer I would come for a run[]
  17. Yeah, steering wheels feckin massive!
  18. The guys couldnt find anything wrong with car, maybe its just me being paranoid about every little noise, rattle etc after what happened before. Or maybe its just the voices in my head! Col.
  19. Been a scoob owner for about 6 years, a 4dr, 5dr and now a 2dr, all classics but never had a go in a newage until today. The WHITELINE demo car was at AWD today, a STI 7? bugeye JDM. Got handed the keys and told to go for a blast! Felt a lot heavier than the type r and the steering is also a bit vague initially but overall a very nice car with plenty power and an awesome suspension set-up. Whiteline defo know there stuff, goes to show that you dont need huge power to enjoy a car, the STI is standard engine wise but with all the right suspension bits you can really have fun knowing that it wont spit you off the road! Big thanks to the Whiteline guy, cant remember your name! Col.
  20. "My RA is back today from it's rebuild - got to do a heap of miles below 5000 rpm and not use much boost." 5000 rpm! is that not a bit high to be runnning in at? I am running mine in at under 3000rpm.
  21. []thats mahoosive![] looks like a real weapon.
  22. They're probably tailing you gumball! M-series cop cars....[]
  23. Bummer, seems to be a lot of bad luck going about in Scoobyville justnow[]
  24. It is a weird noise, had wheel bearings go on other cars before and know what they sound like. Might pop into my cars second home at AWD tomorrow.
