About Solmaster555

  1. Thanks guys - I'll keep on saving the money!!
  2. Hi Folks, Anyone know of any deals going on AP brake kits for Classic Turbos? 4 or 6 pot would be fine. I hear these are the best you can buy, but the price is a bit of a frightener!! Stewart
  3. Davie - for what it's worth, I own an MY2000 UK Classic with 315/300. Mods are Revolution Decat, VF23 Turbo and an Andy Forrest Remap. Great gains for reasonable cash!! Rolling Road at Tegsport - Steve Simpson reckoned that the big difference was down to the VF23 (although he did admit that Andy was the man!). Last thing for me now is to put a Brembo brake conversion from a spec C (this Friday) so it stops as well as it goes!
  4. If you think Scoobs depreciate rather quickly, the Monaro is in a new league altogether. Brand new one (6 litre) in Vauxhall dealer with 100 miles on the clock from a few test drives. Selling for £29,000 - £6k below list!!!! That's some depreciation in 100 miles! Imagine the trade in after 3 years? That's probably the time to buy one!!! Not a good purchase for the private buyer, unless you have money to burn
  5. Anyone else been at the Braehead Motor Show this weekend? It was only worth the fiver to see Russ Swift do some amazing things with a couple of Mini Cooper S's - absolutely incredible car control!! The show itself took all of 10 minutes to go round. Halleys Subaru stand was particularly poor - one STI, no rally mock-up with a playstation stage, no modified Scoobs and not a lot of sales pitch or real interest from the the people on the stand - and they no wonder no-one's buying them! One of the "sales" people told me the P2 is definately going into production next year, but I'll believe it when I see it!
  6. Thanks again guys - Getting fitted (Hopefully without problems!) at the weekend. Will let you know how it goes and what I think of the result.
  7. I think there are a few noses getting longer by the minute here lads! All those porky pies - shame on you!!
  8. Mate - The Gold Brembos look the dogs behind the OZ's. My UK (MY00) Turbo has just gone through the Andy Forrest treatment, VF23 Turbo and Revolution decat system. At TegSport last Thursday it gave 315bhp and 298lbft torque, so I needed something to make it stop as well as it now goes!
  9. Apologies if this question has featured before. I have aquired a full set of gold brembo callipers from a new age car. Will they bolt straight on to my Classic (MY00)? I have 17" OZ Superleggeras on the car. Cheers for any help.
  10. My Classic is a UK Turbo (MY00) and has the following modifications; Revolution decat exhaust system, VF 23 Turbo, K&N panel filter. Remap recently by Andy Forrest. Was at Teg Sport rolling road last Thursday and this gave the following figures on the 2nd power run - 315bhp 298lbft torque. Very smooth curves, with max torque from 3500-5400. The ehaust was £400, Turbo £450, Remap £260+vat. I reckon that's great value for money. Only thing is, my brakes need uprating with all that extra power!! Have fun.
  11. Thanks guys for all the comments - looks like I'll be getting the Brembos from Godspeed, or try and push the budget for AP 6 pots (£1800!!!!) as I plan to introduce the car to Knockhill this year. Local dealer won't entertain me for P1 suspension as I don't have a P1. I'll try the P1 owners web. If anyone else has doe this, post your comments! Stewart
  12. Hi All, Does anyone out there know how to get hold of a new set of P1 springs and dampers. Trying to uprate the standard suspension since the car's had the Andy F remap, decat system and bigger turbo. Advice on uprating the brakes would also be appreciated as it's still on standard. Cheers
