  1. Got the old system off last night and there is a split on the turbo / downpipe gasket, and the downpipe / mid is completely toast. So I now need to source so gaskets before Sunday or I'm no going to make it to Crail. []
  2. Are you not taking the scoob, Herbie?
  3. 1. Kloon 2. Philip_w 3. Craig Mac 4. Charlie 5. Ali37 6. Des 7. Gogsie 8. Herbie 9) DuncATR Thanks Kloon. Got the PM. At the moment it looks like I'll be going for Abz, but I'll keep you updated.
  4. I might be staying down there after the air show at Leuchars (Spelling???) But can someone PM me the Abz meeting place and their mobile no so I can meet up before we arrive at the gate either way. Thanks Duncan
  5. When I'm on Type R Scotland and I get a PM, or if I log on and a PM is waiting, a little box comes up to alert me to it. I'm no computer wiz kid so no idea if this is available over here but have seen it on other forums too.
  6. Sounds like the way ahead to me. [] And at my fav price too. []
  7. Anyone know where I can get a complete set of exhaust gaskets for a classic?? Or anybody got a spare set?? Need turbo/down pipe, down pipe/mid, mid/bb. Tried T&C but its going to be just under £50. [] Seems a bit steep for three gaskets. Or am I just being a greedy barsteward??
  8. I recently spent six weeks in Houston and there was a garage just up the road from my hotel that sold old classics like that kinda stuf, as well as hotrods and old Rollers and mercs. Spent a good few hours in there, wandering around and drooling. Sound guy that owned the place too. Wish I could remember the name of the place. [:$]
  9. After an hour out there last night I'm signing up to that society. [][]
  10. I used it last weekend. Great finnish. Really deep shine. Looked great on the black. No need for the extra gloss protection. []
  11. Saw your car being rebuilt at Japerformance Herbie. Didn't actually know that it was said garage that had caused the problem.
  12. Phil, What model of scoob do you have. Sounds like your heading down the same road I'm heading towards. What route you going down for the Map. Flash or Power FC?
  13. Well Dave I’m just waiting for all stage one part to be delivered [] and have started to pricing stage two bits, I’m hoping to get all stage one parts fitted before Crail <?xml:namespace prefix = o /> Is Wuz not away in Tuesday m8? Craig I'm heading out there tonight and he defo said he's away on Tuesday.
  14. Well done Craig, A good outcome already, hopefully more good to come from this. []
  15. Craig, I know this has been disscussed but while we're on the subject of courtesy cars - A friend of mine opened a garage, (specialist but not main dealer) and after feedback from his customers he found it was more important to have a courtesy car than he would have believed. Speaking only from my own experiences I have found it very difficult to book a service from a main dealer and get a courtesy car without giving a couple months notice. Also I've had insurance issues with courtesy cars. My mate found that it was more important to have more courtesy cars of less value than two or three of higher value. I have been a customer of Carden motors for some time now (or at least I was when I had my Honda), and they always had a courtesy car for me. Nothing flash but its only for 1 day (most of the time). I guess the LONG point I'm trying to make is that I don't care what type of car I get as long as I get one.
  16. My other half gets funny looks in the Scoob but she hardly ever drives it. [] On the other hand she used to drive the Accord Type R all the time and got the same reaction then. Almost every time she went out in it there would be some muppet trying to race her. The only time she went for it was against a lass in aberdeen who had a red scoob. [] Did quite well too.[] I think more girls should go for sporty cars. If mothing else they reduce the insurance costs[][]
  17. Too True
  18. Well done for getting this started Craig. I think itrs good that they are willing to get involved and the best way to develope this relationship is to try and get them along to some of the events. Let them pitch a sales point at events. Even if its just a demo car with T&C flyers. Invite them along to monthly meetings, as well as getting them involved it may also provide us with positive input into future events. The more this relationship grows and the more involved they become the more flexible you will find them when it comes to negotiating deals as it will start to benefit all parties if they are getting the right coverage. I'm not looking to take the pi$$ but like it has been said above, IMHO I think they are overpriced to the point where I would only use them for warranty purposes. But with my classic being 9 years old, they would have to be offering competitive rates to get me there. [:$] Not that I'm greedy [:$] But there are other places out there with years of Scoob experience, offering good service for a fraction of the price. Another point that has been raised is TI Values, this aint going to change, so no point complaining. Just my experiences with them. Duncan
  19. I've only had the scoob a couple of months but I've been looking to come to some of the events. Its just that I was away on honeymoon and I've also had so many other things on these last few weekends. I'm going to try and head over to the next meeting and see what's all on and also put some faces to names. Oh yes and I've put my name down for the Crail meet in September...........If I'm not offshore[:$]
  20. Sounds like a winner to me. Just need to see the rating and the price now.
  21. The Cats do hold their value well. If its mint and there is lots of history then try and agree on somewhere between the two. I bought my cat a couple months back and paid just under £5k if I remember correctly. A little less miles than that but with FSSH and almost every reciept, MOT and tax disc. Low owners and standard too. Good luck with the purchase. They are nice motors. I love mine.
  22. Go for it. That looks cool. I've got white RL7's on my black classic. [] Looks ace.
  23. Cal, As you know, we are both getting wed the same day so I know exactly what you mean. I tend to do the same thing every time I'm in the position of doing something for the first time. Not think about it till the time comes. I wrote my speech when I was in the States a few weeks back and I haven't looked at it since then. Will have a look over it to remind me and put it into cards next week then away again till the bid day. Because you are surounded by friends and family it should be easier. The way I see it if you can stand up and give a talk / speech at work infront of workmates and customers, expecting to answer difficult and technical questions then the wedding speech should be easy. Personally I went for quite a funny speech, take the pi$$ out of some close friends and masel, keeping it mostly light hearted, a nice bit about the wife, a thanks to all, inc special thanks to b/maids, Mother In Law etc. Then pass on to best man. I've done the best man bit before and after the first laugh I relaxed alot more. [] Hope all goes well for you mate, I'm sure it will. Good luck Duncan
  24. Well I had it on the RR last night and the car behaved as it should. No real probs to report as such. It does have a boost spike but nothing major. Couldn't see anything to cause the fuel cut to come in. Took it out for a good road test and there was no probs. Even in 5'th (where the problem was in the first place) Going to change the MAF and vacume lines soon anyway (some of them are a bit hard), then get a boost controler. Its only going to get worse when I fit a full system with de-cat.
