The reason I ask is I seen a very nice looking blue new age sti with SIDC stickers in there today, as I'm new and don't really no faces, cars etc yet don't know who's it is, but must say very nice car and should look great once they have finished. I was in there today getting a new fuel pump fitted and getting the boost sorted, turns out my boost problem could be down to the boost solenoid on its way out, they gave it a wash out and a clean, no fuel cut when taking it out for a run but their was still a slight hesitation and the boost was all over the place 1 bar up to 1.3, due to go back to this sat to hopefully get another solenoid fitted and fingers cross that will sort it. Well done Wilky for the advice looks like you are spot on mate >> Dont clap just throw money. Im glad you got sorted, and I knew a fuel cut defender wasnt your answer, there was something causing under and over boost. It wasnt mods, it wasnt a bleed valve so it had to be the solinoid because you hadnt tampered with anything. Callum W

About 1.5 RON, at car tuning level then thats alot, at your level, not really. Yes shell optimax is better really but Super Unleaded is fine, if you are going to go a wee bit daft, put octane booster in first as a kind of failsafe. Callum

Hello Amanda, Your car should be mapped for UK fuel and will run okay on Super unleaded, however if you fancy driving it like you have just stolen it, then put a bottle of octane booster in the tank before you fill up, this will ensure its flushed into the tank. The octane booster will alter they way your fuel burns in the engine when you drive hard. If you are just cruising about then Super Unleaded on its own will be fine. Callum W

Peter, I very much doubt you are getting 1.9 bar if you were your torque would be fantastic and your bottom end shagged. Perhapes your guages arent reading correctly, if it is 1.9 bar get sorted sooner rather than later. 1 bar is about right for an import STI is it not?? About 14 - 15 psi. If your only hitting 0.7 bar I would say that you had a problem with your waste gate dumping too much which could be caused by a faulty actuator, or more than likely someone has overfilled your car with oil and you have gunked up your boost solinoid which will require you to clean it. However it does sound like you did hit fuel cut, dont know if a gunked up solinoid would cause you to overboost as well, probably. Callum W

With a CAI you get its own advantage like more induction noise(which i love) and it's own psttt noise. So just come and look for me and try it for yourself As for power wise they are probably the same till you get on the open road >> Okay Peter, sit down, take a deep breath and relax. Stephen, a cold air intake will not give you more "bolt on" power. What it will do is allow you to induct colder air so that when the car is REMAPPED it helps produce better results because the car is seeing colder air, which we all know is denser has more oxygen so burns better producing more power, However as Hi soob the villan pointed out unless you are going to be running over 350 bhp the financial burden of buying one for the results insnt worth it because it really wont have an effect unless you are pushing it and need every bit of help to keep your charge cool. However if you are hell bent on buying one I know a man in Edinburgh who makes them on a regular basis and would make you one for a fraction of the price of an APS or such like cold air induction.
