  3. Scott tyres in Broxburn is well worth the trip even though its out of area. They squared fast scooby away with yokohama parada 2 tyres , 276 for all four. Thats great. Callum W
  4. Its got to be vermillion orange This is the new charger, me and the LHFOJ cut about in one in Austin, however only I have test driven the SRT8 which is the yeehagetdownboogie 475bhp one. Its special.
  5. Are you coming too LHFOJ ??
  6. He couldnt drive a 6 inch nail into a pan loaf..........
  7. The MAF sensor annoys me. I ran my car on MAP with my link ecu which was great however it required seasonal tweeks because it was MAFless. Now I have an APEXI PFC and until I get it converted to MAP I neeed to run a MAF which I shall need to cut out of its original housing and place into my induction piping so that I dont have the drama of maxing it out. However I now need to sit down and read countless threads on other websights to see how Im going to rescale my maf so that it can do what its supposed to do. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Feckin MAF sensor.
  8. << each sensor has its own code the code that flashed up is 24 and that is the code for the idle air control solenoid if the CEL is permanantly lit then the fault is currently active if the code flashes up when the black connectors under the dash are connected then the fault is historical reset the ECU and if the CEL flashes steadily after a short 50 yard drive then the fault is not currently active reset the ECU and if it takes forever and a day for the CEL to illuminate then the fault is currently active the ecu in the Subaru is a clever bit of kit in the self protection dept. if the ECU detects that a sensors output has fallen outwith a certain perameter then it will try to compensate using another sensor. If that fails then it will retard the igntiion, richen up the mixture, lower the boost pressure and if it thinks it still cannot opertate safely then it will go into Limp Home Mode and keep the CEL permantly on until the faulty component is fixed or replaced. is this clear enough or am i making it worse Grant Looking out for a laser dot on the wall >> All that knowledge, and you couldnt put a nut in a monkeys mooth!!
  9. Okay cheers Grant, you encyclopedia, now lets have that again in plain english for us minians!!
  10. Hello padraig, you werent missed..........
  11. Okay, its one of the following me thinks, 1. MAF is knackered, this can be cleaned with brake cleaner, look up a thread about cleaning it on scoobynet. If cleaning it doesnt sort it, try a borrowed working one. 2. Type Rs are notorious for lunching thier ignition leads. I dont know why, but Colin Greer replaces every type r set he sees. Check them once again with a borrowed set to eliminate them. 3. check your plugs, they could be fecked. I doubt the DV is causing it as you would see boost loss if it was leaking. If these tests dont eliminate it PM me and we will go a bit further. Callum W
  12. John, the video was done in 1987 as promotion for audi sales in the USA after Walter took 27.9 seconds off the world record. It has 3 screen split with the road, pedal action and his gearchanges and is quite honestly astonishing. Someone rehashed it a number of years ago with the famous Audi S1 footage from portugal where Walter is hurtling along the road at 140mph and spectators are jumping out the way. They mixed that with his foot/ incar action but that isnt the true video. The foot action /in car footage etc belongs to the pikes peak video. I wish I could find it. Uncle Volter is recognised by other famous racing drivers from all motorsport as probabley the best driver that has ever lived.
  13. Nice to have you onboard.
  14. BTTT, This isnt junk, the welding is exceptional as is the build quality, and the wrapping on the downpipe alone is about £60 worth of exhaust wrap and it wire locked. Its a full system, turbo back, If you stuck I can have it fitted for you. Callum W
  15. We still need to find the video of Uncle Volter at Pikes peaks. Man, that takes some beating. Callum W
  16. An external boost controller will take the task of controlling your boost off of your ecu. Depending on what map sensor your car has will determine how much boost your ecu can see. So what alot of people do is fit and external boost controller if thier map sensor can only see, say 1.2bar and they want to run 1.5 bar, they fit an external boost controller and set it to 1.5 bar then adjust the last couple of fuel and ignition load rows to handle that boost. Or if you dont have a gucci fandango ecu and dont have any money for one, you would up your boost with a dawes device or bleed valve, then up you fuel pressure with an aftermarket regulator and listen with det cans until you have adjusted away any det. This is only recommended for experienced det listeners or suicide jockeys, and is not for the novice or anyone with a weak heart. Your Gems if my memory serves me correct will do all this so I dont think an external boost controller will be of any gain to you. An AVCR would however look nice on your dash, and I did enjoy typing this. Callum W
