gb270 is a lovely car but when i bought my sti i looked at getting a wrx and adding a few prodrive options to improve the weak areas and suddenly i wasnt far off the price of an sti and still didnt have the 6 speed heavy duty gearbox,wider track, thicker driveshafts,dccd and active diffs,nicer interior etc if you can stretch to it an rb320 is an awesome machine, i have heard a few horror stories regarding the 2.5 engines and oil consumption/starvation so a warranty could be worth it or stick to a 2.0l sti the running costs between a wrx and sti arent that different as long as you shop around for prices- sti brembo brake pads are about 200 from a dealer,can be found for about 70 oe spec,90 uprated mintex, servicing is every 10k miles or year on sti's -oil and filter change from a specialist keeping the warranty intact is about 140, fuel consumption is not something to think about with any of them lol on any of the above do watch out for knocking rear shocks which is the one common fault with them but whichever you go for you wont regret it

its certainly noticeable,but looks a cracking example uk cars were only sports in yellow so its a jdm sti v5 or 6, but very rare in 4 door form

ive had my 05 sti from new,tinkered with most bits on it,love it to bits and its without doubt the most capable car ive had - however i still miss my classics and when funds allow there will be a type r or p1 next to the sti

fun,memories and pulling has to be my first scoob- 21 with a brand new my00 uk turbo and full decat girls loved it,randoms would give you the thumbs up on the motorway and very little could keep up wit,does everyh it best all rounder -a3 2.0 tdi quattro, does everything apart from real driving enjoyment so well its proving impossible to pick a replacement

anyone got any experience with these? i see a sr40 for sale just now and wondered if its worthwhile for an 05 sti?

exactly Neil, same goes for the 4wd turbo rally reps citroen, peugeot, skoda etc havent produced recently - its a pet hate of mine - imprezas,cossies,evos,integrales -all the greats were available from the showroom with the same basic drivetrain as the rally cars

good news but like dale said without the manufacturers coming back in force it is a little bit of a joke still we can all rush out and buy a nice 4wd turbocharged ford focus now eh......

il reply to your pm tomorrow mate but as said for best results id add a panel filter and fuel pump along with changing the back box. or i believe you can knock the baffles out of the standard backbox with decent results...
