when i got my 05 sti 4 years ago 400/400 roughly was my target with handling and brakes to match, and im now a turbo and injectors away from it. i think anymore and itd be a proper handful on wet bumpy b roads,which is my happy hunting ground not to mention mechanical peace of mind. but then i may change my mind when im there... and as others have said,not much ive driven has matched my decatted 240 ish classic for sheer driving pleasure-as mr pirelli says power is nothing without control...

need to decide what front brake setup to go with as my discs and pads are shot and also got a very badly leaking rear caliper

as above and the usual checks for crash damage,also check the top of the windscreen for rust spots on the roof edge,quite common on uk cars good luck with it!!

used to have mongoose systems too on my classics,sounded great and good quality. got roger clark motorsport system on my newage now which is full 3" system and excellent quality and sound-good enough for the team ice car and the gobstopper

i suggest wearing hawian shirts whenever driving the car,and draping some over it when its parked. this should ruin your street cred enough that they will neither want to nick it or come and gawp like guppies anymore. i can give you the name of my tailor if you pursue this option

i may be wrong but i believe the torque more than the power is what eats boxes,hence 2.5's having more problems when tuned due to their ample torque ask a proffesional ciaran but id budget for a ppg kit or 6 speed at some point,if your upping the power to high 300's id also suggest you may need uprated fuel rails and fuel pressure regulator. definitely you want uprated calipers though,prodrive alcons,newage brembo's or ksports id suggest and dont forget hawian shirts add at least 80hp

it was a weekend to make maisy bray with delight- shame stage 1 got cancelled but an impreza winners a result so many highlights- getting Ken Block to sign my 555 jacket, me and Dale getting Jimmy Mcrae to sign our bamber imprezas, seeing the marshall/porsche stand off at service, watching Jimmy launch the sierra at allean and seeing big Euan pull off the perfect handbrake turn round a hairpin o and not forgetting Dales face on saturday seeing a line of black mcrae mugs on the vision stand after Imy sold him the 'last one of the weekend' on friday night...... now for the tour of mull on friday

has anyone tried the D2 8 piston brake kits? im needing pads and discs and very tempted to go down the bigger caliper route as opposed to 2 piece discs like performance friction or dba

i cant decide between 20g or 321h-want as little lag as possible while still pulling right round to the line. although as ive a vf35 its been suggested i could port it out a bit so wondered about that and bigger injectors? sorry for the hijack !!
