Anyone going to the Banzai day at Crail (Sun 23rd)?
scott_coull replied to colin_ross's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Weather looks spot on, nice day here in Sunny Fife. Have a good day, wish I wasn't working. Cheers Coulster -
Nice pics Paddy, glad the weather was ok, was forecast rain. Would have been there but I have to work this weekend so won't be at Crail the morra either. Glad it was a good day. Coulster

East of Fife out aswell. Tried Leven, Pittenweem and St Andrews, out of stock at all of them. Price on the pump at Leven was 100.9p Asked the woman behind the counter and she didn't have a clue. Also she said she didn't know when they would get it back in. What a joke.

NO they defo won't fit mate. I'll buy them for mines [] These will be my next upgrade I think, running roughly the same figures as you mate and agree that the standard set up aint up to the job. Let us know how you get on with them cheers Coulster

"I bought it used from a guy on here........ AWD in Perth can get them but they ultimately come from Australia and are quite expensive. You have to pay extra for the new age adaptr plate. It's worth the money though. I had mine facing upwards to begin with but had to turn it 90° because it was starting to blow a hole in the padding underneath the bonnet ! CGS" Glad to see its still getting put to good use Cal [] Car sounds ace! Now got another XS on mines after changing to front mount. What a sound eh! AWD in Perth have got copies of the turbo XS bov at around half the price of the turbo XS. Maybe give them a phone and see what the exact price is. Think they were about £80 or there abouts. Cheers Coulster

Good response, thanks, I do have the bung for the exhaust but feel with it in, it slightly restricts power. Dunno what i'll do, maybe fit equal length headers? Mate has done this to hid and has made it quieter (blitz nur spec R on his too) Decisions decisions. Fastscooby what make is your backbox?
-
Seriously thinking about getting rid of the Blitz Nur spec R in the serach for something with the same performance gains but half the volume. Unwanted attention from Police/other drivers. Would prefer 3" system as thats whats on the car, any suggestions or comments of whats better...2.5" or 3". Any pros cons to these? Cheers Coulster

Aye as Kev says its all one part. You need to apply a fair bit of pulling pressure to the point that you think it might just snap. I never cut mine, I drilled a hole in the base big enough for the defi connector to get through then refitted it it minus the lid obvioulsy. I used super strong double sided sticky tape to fix the gauge holder/lid on. Also can screw it with a self tapper from the underside of the tray up into the gauge holder. If you need a hand with the gauges colin then give me a shout. Fitted the defis in mines and they seem to work fine [] Have a look at Chiarks site, I found it very helpfull http://www.chiark.com/scooby/gauges_interior.asp Cheers Coulster

Scottish Scoobies or west region scoobies?
scott_coull replied to scott_coull's topic in Scottish Scoobies
On reflection of the very constructive replies to my inititial rant/outburst I see that its just me, possibly one or two others who feels there is an east/west coast divide. I appreciate most of the points made and Im in no way criticising the very good efforts put in to organising events etc (which I have been part of) by these people. Peter you were the appreciation factor, which imho gets taken too far, not always you but you were an example I could make to stop the question of WHO?. If Ive offended you then Im sorry. The East/Fife region are very quiet and perhaps if I and other members made more of an effort then we could make things happen but there does not seem to be the interest, only a small number of people up for a meet, and to be honest if its to be 3 or 4 people turning upto a meet then I don't see the point. Also probably a matter of geographical location, not just a 15/20 min drive to get to other side of town which I think puts some people off? Jon get a Tayside meet organised as you seem to be the man up that neck of the woods [] An example of humour/banter at the bottom of the post, all light hearted and not about Goats (thankyou) but still it happens. I like a bit of banter aswell but also enjoy reading posts which are titled and interest me to find that a few replies later its turned into banter again. This is the point im trying to get accross. I dont read topics which don't interest me but you can't always avoid it if its a topic relevent to my interest to be turned into nonsense. And its the same people that seem to be doing it imho. If you take that to heart then im sorry. All imho. A few replies have not surprised me in the fact that people seem to agree on things but won't express their opinions and just put up with things they don't like. Part of a Forum I suppose but if we are all supposed to get along then I felt I should put accross my opinion in the hope that maybe some of the Goat banter be controlled to there own threads and make the awareness to other members who know its happening and also the people posting it know they are doing it and causing offense to others. Gumball etc you are'nt bad people imho but please calm down the goat banter...it's getting very tiring now. Scott -
Have you tried www.mytyres.co.uk ? I got 4 18" T1rs from them, about £92 each incl vat and delivery. Got them fitted for £15. Coulster

Scottish Scoobies or west region scoobies?
scott_coull replied to scott_coull's topic in Scottish Scoobies
About the response I expected from you Gumball "How could the threads ever take shape around thoughts or ideas of people who post very seldomly????" Exactly, what are the reasons people never reply or give there ideas....this is the point im trying to make. Are people not posting for a specific reason? I think so.... "I dont entirely see what he would have to do with it and dont particularly want your opinion on anything." If you felt I had offended you then, if you complain to the Chairman then im sure he would point out to me that I have done something wrong and be interested in the problems cause. Another reason behind my initial post, how can users feel comfortable to post on things when the attitude towards other members is like that? Or maybe just towards me? This is not a thread to start a slanging match of individuals, more trying to make an awareness of how I feel and see if any others feel the same. Maybe it is just me but having spoke to a few other guys I am of the opinion that Im not the only one to feel this way but maybe I'm the only one willing to post up my thoughts. Scott -
solution please for a spinning gear knob !!!!!
scott_coull replied to bigdavie's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I have'nt removed the steering wheel mate. The MY99 comes with a momo wheel as standard with a silver centre, I just matched the gear knob to the steering wheel. Wheel similar to this http://219.106.225.76/Photo06/121986/60/6337047.jpg Good site http://www.chiark.com/scooby/mod_knob.asp Cheers Coulster -
solution please for a spinning gear knob !!!!!
scott_coull replied to bigdavie's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Just unscrew it mate. I went for a momo gear knob to match the steering wheel. Think i had to cut the green bit off (you'll see it when you take the gearknob off) then fit the momo knob onto it. New one comes with instructions and its a pretty easy mod to do. Think it was about £45. Coulster -
Have you tried your local dealer mate? Parts numbers Front left 20311FA960 Front right 20311FA950 Rear left 20360FA960 Rear right 20360FA950 Have you thought about going for godspeed brake upgrade or even Brembos from an Sti? Depends on your budget what to go for, try http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/ and have a look, AWD motorsport are doing Brembo upgrade for £1200 incl vat and fitting for front Brembos at the moment. Brembos will be my next upgrade as standard 4 pots just don't stop it quick enough for me. Cheers Coulster

Scottish Scoobies or west region scoobies?
scott_coull replied to scott_coull's topic in Scottish Scoobies
No hugs, kisses or brown nosing need, juat an appreciation that this forum is going down hill! -
Serious personal opinion and observatrion. ! Is it just me or does Scottish Scoobies seem just a home for a select few to express there opinions/ personal fan clubs?Seems to me that although this place still offers certain acknowledgements to peoples questions, it seems more a west scoobies rather than Scottish scoobies. I myself feel more of an observer on the forum as I feel I can't contribute to threads, which mostly end up as an amusement to certain individuals, and the majority seem to be about Goats, Wilky, Gumball and Greersport related fan club threads. Is it just me or does there seem until about a week and a half ago that everyone whom posted seemed to have an erection about Hypertech BUT now the tides have turned to spring tides and most people seem to be turned to Greersport, (not a bad word to say about then might I add). Let me say this......Can't we pass a decision to create a Gumball/Willky/Fai (peter) etc to create section of Scottish scoobs to get rid of the Goat loving back patting cleak that is currently going within West Scoobs, sorry Scottish Scoobies, as I'm and i'm sure several others are getting fed up with the consatnt shite that is being posted on here. If you or any others ( Gumball, Wilky etc are not happy with this, feel free to PM or email me and I'll gladly express my opinions to you.) find this post offensive then send a PM to me or Phil Stevens as im sure others will appreciate this post, as It's SIDC ive paid a mebership fee to and not the West coast fan club/ I for one am fed up with the constant drivel on the site and wish the individuals would end it now and realise there is more than life to scoring brownie points on a forum. We love you West scoobies x x x Let the games begin
