Chris, next time there's a meet or a Knockhill track day your more than welcome to come out for a "leisurely" blast around a near by B road. It feels awesome and I can't recommend Andy F enough. I don't know if it will spin the wheels in the dry but it doesn't stop me from putting the foot down when it's wet. Chips are nonsense on a Scoob, there's no way to tell if it's running correct fuel and air mistures etc and with Scoobs being prone to knock I would say a chip is a very dangerous thing. Just my opinion. James.

Have you got similar plans wheelchairscooby ?

Thanks for the comments guys. It's running STI pink injectors (550cc) and a large TMIC (similar in size to the Hyperflow ones at £700). Also changed the plugs to heat grade 7 NGK's, prodrive fuel pump, ported the headers and up pipe, heat wrapped the headers,up pipe and down pipe, replaced whole system for 2.5" bore H&S, put and AndyF 18G on, removed the resonator box under the wing, green panel filter and a Forge BOV. Throw in a few Samco hoses and hey-presto..... James.

I'm sure there's a set of 17's on there just now too. James.

As per topic just been to Andy's to get the car mapped on Thursday. What can I say except wow !! After a bit of hassle getting the 18g fitted and adjusting/modifying other parts the car is finally complete. Initial impressions are awesome. Andy ran it through a Dyno power run on his lap top and while it's not 100% accurate due to weight variations etc we pulled out 340bhp and 330 torque. Andy reckons there's more to come power wise but that the torque level is pretty good, after all, it's torque that pulls you along and not bhp. I'm well pleased with it and now just need to get a catch can to stop it blowing oil into the outlet. Andy was expecting about 350bhp but said that the air ratio wasn't as perhaps high as he would normally associate with the level of boost. Fuel etc are all fine. I'm not claiming to have the fastest Scooby out there but it's probably up there with the best WRX's at the moment. Put it this way, when on the high boost map (1.5bar) it's got enough torque to loose the traction and spin all 4 wheels in 1st. That's on a normal take off too, not revving the @ss off it. Well pleased [] James.

I don't think it's a baffle kit Fee. There's a few pipes that are linked in to the existing breather pipes that vent any excess oil pushed in to these breathers, when under heavy acceleration, into a small alluminium tank. It's only supposed to be about 45 mins to an hour for the fitting ! James. -
After making some big bhp mods to my Newage WRX I'm going to have to fit one of the above. Anyone done this themselves and be willing to do it again and give me a hand ? I'm in Edinburgh by the way but I will happily travel within reason. James.

Are you referring to me or the original post wullie ?

That's a cracking price !!! I'm getting mines replaced with a HELIX Organic clutch on Wednesday. Clutch is £400 plus VAT, fitting is quoted at 5/6 hours, skimming the flywheel and lightening it is £35 and a genuine subaru replacement spigot bearing for the flywheel is only £12. If your doing your clutch I cant stress enough how important it is that you get the flywheel skimmed, if you don't, bring on the judder when your taking, off every time [] I'm not a mechaninc but understand that it's a pretty serious job. 5/6 hours is by someone that does them day in/day out.If you've still got the standard CAT on that has to come off too to allow you to get the gear box out. James.

Having owned one before the Scoob I can say that I agree with Cal fully. As for standard Scoobs smoking them on the twisties in the dry I would disagree. The car handles gash in the wet as all powerful FWD cars do but in the dry it's a weapon. I had much more fun in the CTR than I have ever have had in my Scoob. Having said that, when AndyF is finished mapping and I'm pushing on for 350-370bhp it will be a different story[] James.

It doesn't mate, just a small Magma sticker from the company that tinted my windows. I've removed all the boot badges apart from "SUBARU" too. -

To be honest I couldn't say for sure. It's got tints though and looks really nice in that dark silver colour. -

I'll keep ma eyes peeled for your then lad ! Geez a flash next time, head lights only mind you. -
I've seen you loads and flashed you a few times when in my scoob (WR Blue newage WRX with Y6SUB plate). Who are you ?

The intake to the filter box is high enough not to worry about water penetration mate. just cut around the plastic then and leave that bolt in place.
-
It's my mate who owns the garage there, Andrew Alan, so tell him I sent you and ask for a cash price, works out well cheaper []

or that should say cheap cheap chirpy chirpy. Removed my resonator box today from the inner arch liner on the drivers side for better air flow. As a bonus I can now hear the turbo sucking like mad and the wastegate chirping away like (well almost) a rally car. James.

.....on a tax evasion mission I believe. I know what's up now but thanks for the responses all the same. James.
