For the money your looking to spend I would fit the downpipe (ebay for £100) Like you said, an STI back box would be better, (ebay£50) After you have done that I think you will be happier with the car. You will still have approx £15 left and I would invest it in a Knocklink so you ca keep an eye out for any det problems. Just an idea though mind

A good bit of kit if fitted properly, yes. But if fitted poorly it will cause problems and £££ You wont be able to lift the boost much or at all though I wouldnt think. If your car is standard it will cut if you raise the boost past a certain point (different for JDM and Uk cars and also model) You will only be able to play about with the duty cycle to be honest. To lift the boost higher you would need to address the boost cut and then I wouldnt even think about raising boost without a knock reading and a Air/fuel reading as you run the chance of being lean (under fuled) which is the result you dont want It can be set up without a R/R session, no problem but if your not confident doing it yourself and dont understand it fully....then dont do it!! Look at what your wanting to gain from your car. Is it just a small lift in power your looking for or is it an extra 50bhp?? To be honest you wont get either without doing work else where on the car. The short answer is, yes you can fit it yourself..so long as you can read an ECU pin out diagram and work a soldering iron. It can be set on the open road. You could buy a boost gauge and a manual controller but its not capable of controlling duty cycle or gear spicific settings. The AVCR is better by a mile when fitted Hope that was a help. (clear as mud I think )

Thanks to everyone for the good turn out once again Like some of you said...good to keep the the mood "Relaxed" Theres no need for stress this close to Christmas Good to see Billyboy , Swiggi and the WRC No1's through from the west and thanks to the Lothian possey for making the trip too A nice surprise to see the Andy JDM and the Devil Scooby. Still looks the BLX Matey, but I'm sure you will be able to improve on her over the coming months Grant.....hope you got those Vids rewound okay and thanks again. Felt a bit funny not turning up in the Buggy or at the very least knowing that it was parked at home So every effort is being made to rectify the problem and I hope I can turn up ASAP with something Flat4 I'm probably not going to be on the forum too much between the end of the week and Christmas due to work commitments and I doubt I will see any of you at any of the coming meets. So I guess I should take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year A tad early I know...but I didn't want to miss my chance I will catch you all in 2006!!!

Another sad loss for not only British rallying but also World rallying. A great competitor, showman and fellow countryman.

Sorry for the delayed reply folks Work and PC problems today have caused havoc As my handsome assistant, Paul said, it will be at the Hungry Horse in Sprinkerse Ind estate. This has proved to be not too bad over the past few meets. Decent grub and plenty of room. Im in London on Monday but I should be home in time. If not I wont be far away, unlike the following week when Im going to be sunning it up in the middle of the Gulf Of mexico See you all there

Stephen, I can think of a few other words myself but I guess it should be kept "Subaru" orientated. After all its the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club Could do S I D C ?
-
**edited*** anyway....sounds like a good idea Stephen. What about a photo taken from the likes of a high building and the cars parked in an area below? Just my useless input for the evening

Would have said so Matey. Get down the dealers and push them for a repair ASAP

Synchro is on its way out Matey. My MY98 did the same.

Well.....thats her away then The Buggy went on her last trip with me this afternoon into the Nissan dealer where she will wait to be fostered by a new loving owner After just under two years and covering 10K together its come to the point where we couldnt live with each other any more. To be honest, I'm not that bothered right now. Am I getting old or something?? Picked up Allys new X Trail to keep us going just now. To be honest its great!! No spine shattering moments when you hit the cats eyes or problems with lag and detination I guess that in a few weeks I will be on the hunt for a new toy due to withdraw symptoms To be honest there are no plans to replace the Subaru with anything at the moment. I want to spend the next six months building the house and the GARAGE and then I can get a wee treat for myself I have a few ideas of what to get but no doubt I will change my mind before then. You know what Im like So if you see a Black Jeep kicking around with the HI SOOB number plate on it....give me a flash or a wave. Not too sure how it will be round the track though I will be forced into the middle of the track to use the offroad area!! Anyway, onto bigger and better things I hope. I will return with someting even better. I promise
