As you can see the standard exhaust is a wee bit restrictive A good list of mods (money depending) are : Exhaust (I have a Meercat one and swear by it) : Headers and up pipe - there are conflicting reports as to which is best, standard ported ones or aftermarket (I have GT spec II headers and up pipe) : uprated fuel pump - Bosch, Walbro or similar : induction - depends on what sort of power you are looking for, the green panel filter or similar is good but I prefer the APS inner wing induction kit (cos ive got one...lol) : Possibly look into a larger turbo VF 34 / 35 are simple upgrades that will let you run circa 350bhp and are relativly cheap to pick up, the other option is to speak to Andy F, his TD04H is a very good turbo for fast spool up and at a guess good for about 330bhp (might be wrong) or an Andy Forrest 20g, which still has good spool up and is good for up to about high 300's on road fuel. Andy's Website is far more informative than I on the turbo subject!!!!!!! All of the above can be found 2nd hand if you have enough time which will save you a fair few pounds oh yea and an Andy F map!!!! or you can sell your car and buy mine which will be for sale within the month and it has 370bhp and 364lbs-ft of torque and is a 05 sti uk Graeme

go full 3 inch, you know you want to Mine is a full 3 inch system on a 2L sti 9 uk and i have 370bhp and 364lbs-ft of torque (with other supporting mods) If your car is a standard UK car, dont bother with booster, you are wasting your money, V-Power is more than enough If your car is just a full decat again you dont have to run booster, but it would make it safer, the biggest problem I found that was the car wanted to over boost, so i just kept it under 3K rpm untill i got it mapped the next week Graeme

Hello there folks, I am running a VF35 (the one that came with the car) and as Andy said some of the 35's suffer from creep, unfortunately mine did so had to get it ported, at the same time I had the exhaust housing ported also. I am using Scottymax fuel (10% methanol blend) and I am running 270bhp and 364 lbs-ft of torque in my 05 sti uk with other supporting mods Graeme

Ive got 370bhp and I get about 230 - 240 miles to the tank, I have just bought an old 635csi (2.5L engine) and im getting about 290 - 340 miles to the tank depending on which roads I use it on. my brother had the car and he got from Renfrew (next to Glasgow airport) to Aberdeen and back to stirling on a tank in my scoob Graeme

not too bad, theres a wee bit of a "ting" from it, being a re-circ I would prob have been better off leaving the standard one on, but I fitted a Bailey VTA one on when I got the car and lost the standard one, then I changed back to a re-circ when I heard all the scare stories f them bore washing peoples engines. Im not that fussed with dump valves but with the APS induction kit alot of the noise comes back through the system so sounds like you haver a VTA fitted (vent to atmosphere) Graeme

370 bhp and 364 lbs-ft of torque Power Mods Meercat 3 inch "Snakehead" turbo back decat system £550 GT spec 2 headers and up pipe £400 ish (cant remember cost) Standard VF35 turbo with wastegate ported to stop boost creep (Think the work cost about £200, but had other stuff done at the same time) APS inner wing induction kit (£100 2nd hand) Perrin intake elbow and a couple of Samco bits and bobs (£100 2nd hand) Bosch 255 liter per hour fuel pump (£150ish) Andy Forrest remap with 10% Methanol in the fuel (£550 + VAT the first time, not sure if its gone up since then. £200 the 2nd time (headers and meth) edit oh yea and a forge re circ dump valve (no need for VTA with APS kit!!!!) on a 2005 STi uk ps car for sale soon!!!! they are the best downpipes you can get, based upon an early WRC downpipe the consistantly get good results when the car is mapped Graeme Ps Both Colin and Alistair McRae have had exhausts made by wully at Meercat)

199.4bhp, canny remember the torque, car totaly standard with a dirty air filter, oh yea the car is 20yrs old and according to the book had 220bhp from the factory, well chuffed (what did Terzo Neil make ) Graeme

well thats it decided, once the 30K serviceis done, chips away to clear up the scrapes on the bumper and proshine have worked their wonders valleting the car it will be put up for sale as is for 16.5K (forgot to say above that it is also fitted with a Bosch uprated fuel pump) Anyone who is interested PM me, for your information the car has 14K of HP left on it and this this will be cleared with funds raised from the sale. £478 going into a house fund every month just makes more scense to me just now. new car is already on the way, Im in talks with a boy about a 1988 BMW 635 csi Highline, bit of a change and I will need to break out the P imp outfit for when im driving it...lol Graeme
