  1. cool see you there... We're still fettling just now, but it'll be ready Extra bracing in the cage, bit more weight saving (after exciting 'oh shit, the cars on fire' incident), and a general wee service. Did a compression test last night.... not sure what book figures are supposed to be but it read between 185 to 200psi across them all. No toooo bad i think for a 114k mile 20yr old toot toot
  2. its seeping out of gaskets everywhere!! Going to give it a compression test, and a service before the next one.... it deserves a bit of pampering! Need to look for new pads too, and sort out our susp teething probs
  3. Daz - ptfff... details details.... Just re-fit the exhaust when its roasting hot like i did at knockhill.... mmmm toasty! Whats up with it anyway? Cracked ? Its a fun wee track for cars not suited to big straights! I have your litre of oil in the back of the range rover waiting.
  4. Aye Aye Dave... Looking pretty sweet.
  5. I've only had it 3 or 4 weeks now!!! Swap for what?
  6. It took time to get the rear beam off, just becuase everything was seized and corroded. Essentially its just 6 bolts though... (if you dont need to swap rear struts over) Whip off the rear brake lines, jack under the beam to hold it. Undo the 6 bolts in the rear of the car (in car) then drop the jack slowly. Fee: Wheres the link to the guides on 205drivers Front is ok... took a bit more time on ours as we had to come up with a solution about the ARB drop links etc Do you have spring compressors?
  7. What do you think the last one will look like printed A4/A3.... Thinking about getting it done for fathers day. Seeing as he sold the car to me quite cheap.
  8. ach.... we have a firm belief we will need to reshell ours at some point as its not the best. Possibly just go for the newest 3dr base model we can find in a straight, rot free shape. We've had the 205 for just over a year now.... done all the work over the winter really, started stripping it late last summer. 'Mon the 205 team
  9. didnt measure them on track/hot... but they were at aprox 31 all round in the morning with ambiant temp. Once we get the car/setup sorted out and some 048's or 888's sorted we'll start worrying more about tyre pressures... or do they make a big difference ?
  10. There was some cheap used bilstein shocks on ebay last week i think.... Whats your total spend on yours now? Including the car? I think we must be up to about 1300 now :/
  11. i saw it coming into the hairpin.... i intially thought you'd lost a tyre as it just looked like sparks.... then you slowed down... and the flames went up the psgr side of the car.... up above the height of the car
  12. front? How much are you after, and why dont they fit yours? No idea what poundage our front springs are!? Not too stiff. How does you car handle? Understeery, or liftoff/oversteer? Give the solid rear beam mounts a try when swapping beams.... (under 50quid for a set)
  13. I was taking it easy my love Tyre squeel..... pressure too low, or too high? (too high isnt it?)
  14. i saw him on for two laps..... he had tyre probs, and ended up heading home early
  15. Ross also does big prints.... he's done one for us, and its amazing!
  16. I bought a cheap roll cage mount off the net. £40 or so.... a lot cheaper, and simpler than the 100+ jobbies you see advertised by demon tweeks etc. Still has movement on 3 axis though. If you want the link i can dig it out for you. They do various different types of mounts. The pug does handle quite well.... just drifts out if pushed too hard, and gets sideways on demand with a wee flick
  17. painting, passing tools, banging her heed..... Fee's jobs.. The compressors are LASER ones.... fairly cheap affairs. Still a bit concerned about the car being understeery with the suspension that much higher at the front.
  18. i wish it was a turbo its a 202bhp ( 200 and something) 3.0
  19. er.... mussleburgh harbour, is that whats its known as?!?!
  20. aye, its a clean car... just need that chest wig again... lol
  21. Damn 4wd!!! IQY 13.673 sec 0.248 sec 1.887 sec 101.1 mph Left lane ADAM K 13.908 sec 0.585 sec 2.284 sec 101.1 mph Right lane Fee - see.... your 60ft times are about 0.2 higer than IQY's!!!! sort it out
  22. and what parts are still needed for the Exhaust manifold? Spring bolts, and the studs? You have the gaskets?
