  5. I will be out at this event and looking forward to getting in some sideways action. The venue will be a field about 5 miles south of Stonehaven off the A90. Start from 09:00 until 16:30ish. Foz and myself will be out in a grey Pug 205. Come and say hello.
  6. I ordered some parts from a well known dealer earlier this year. A strut brace and a battery box for my Pug. After 4 weks there was no sign of them so I phoned up and he said he had sent them. 2 weeks later still no parts. So I phoned and asked him what he was going to do about it. He said he would check with the Royal Mail. 3 days later he phoned and said he had found the parts as they had just been returned after a round triip from the Rep of Ireland. I got the parts 3 days later. Sometimes the carriers really mess up.
  7. Having just had to run my father down to the Ford dealers where his mondeo had to have the rear beam rebuilt after 30k I just laughed at this thread. The Ford people just said" They are all like that".
  8. Agreed about Kinghorn. I used them to get some major rust repairs done to my Alpina and they did a lovely job. I know this may go against the grain but after my ex-wife tried to take the Sport swimming in the Don. Arnold Clark did an excellent job which I couldn't fault. (and I tried!)
  9. You chose a bad weekend m8. The Fringe and festival is on. The city will be mobbed with foriegners.
  10. You want a beautiful woman over your Scoob? Well who doesn't? Do you want her gift wrapped or au natural? Apologies. I couldn't resist it.
  11. Storm in a teacup methinks. Ironically I was just involved in the Muppet threads thread on the general discussion here. Everybody immediately rushed kicking and screaming into general agreement. Lovely
  12. I think that is very sensible. Too much moderation creates bad feeling. I have been on BBs with abusive and profane threads just destroying the "ambience". The scooby v women thread has neither and I felt that it was actually very well behaved. Yes this is a car BB but we all know there is more to life than cars.
  13. Well I for one like a light-hearted banter on a thread. I don't consider myself sexist and I hope I poke as much fun about myself as anyone. I really don't get the "turning this into a dating thread bit". After all what right-minded woman would be interested in me after reading what I have posted on here? I agree entirely with Chesire Cat about the "community bit" My intention is not to offend but I will stir things a little for amusement. But to get back OT In my experience girlfriends/wife have caused infinitely more trouble than my cars and that includes the rally cars but they would probably say the same thing about me.
  14. As much as I am enjoying this thread I have to go and play with my cars. I have a whole harem outside who dont get jealous if i spend time with another car. and then I have to do some ironing
  15. How do you define a muppet thread then m8?
  16. Catwoman..Oh absolutely but she still insisted on marrying me. Still now that I am single again some of the changes she made to me can be quite marketable. Like putting the toilet seat down, changing the sheets at least once a month, washing the dishes before all the crockery is in the sink etc What do you think?
  17. "let a woman love you for what you are?" I think you you mean "let a woman love you for what she can turn you in to."
  18. Blimey. Rob seems to have hit a nerve with this one. I am positive he wasn't entirely serious, unlike me of course. Catwoman said << I have never gone out with a man because of what he has driven, what he owns or how much money he has. I don't expect a man to provide for me, cook for me, iron for me or clean for me. I own my own house, my own WRX Scooby and my own teeth all through working hard. >> Me too apart from the WRX as mine is a UK.
  19. Morning. Back in Sunny Scotland but at least I am reunited with my Scoob It isn't actually raining at the moment.
  20. I have a Alpina C2 which is the 3 series 2.7. It was a great car but the rust has got a bit of a hold. Engines are so sweet with real kick in the bac and handles just sublimely especially in the wet! hand built in Nottingham BTW!
  21. You know I had thought that Rob was just a troll but I have now changed my mind with this thought-provoking thread. Certainly I have not been lucky with my choice of wife and life is so much simpler without her. Indeed the first time she left she left the Scoob sport which was supposed to be hers. (HP owing of course) I remember a conversation with a friend when I was a student where he decided that he would rather have a girlfriend than a car and of course I took the opposite view. Me at 21 and full of vim as well. Anyway enough rambling. Good point Rob old chap! keep it up!
  22. Well it isn't quite morning here but it is my last day in North Dakota. in 8 hours I will be getting in my 5litre V8 4WD and driving 7 hours back to Casper Wyoming. Where I will get a flight back to the UK. Where I will be reunited with my Wagon after 4 long weeks without it. I have really missed it and especially yesterday when I drove through the Beartooths in Montana. Now that is a place for a Scooby convoy! Summit is 10800ft and there must have been 50 hairpins. It certainly beats being offshore!
  23. Did you try out left foot braking then Doug?
