About Cheshire Cat

  1. I think chosing the right oil is a more important factor but I do what most others seem to do which is drive straight off keeping it below 3k revs and if driving on boost cruise the last few miles with no turbo then switch straight off. Unless i've been driving 'on my own private airfield', then I will drive off boost for longer. I'm not a fan of turbo timers as, as stated above engine temps soar when idling! Cool the engine whilst moving I say. But all this is only really for hard driving, normal driving requires normal habits.
  2. I would recommned Keith Michaels too, but would speak to Christian Wheatley as he seems to answer the phone/return calls when required. If 8-9k is your budget I would agree with Iain and advise against getting a P1. That price range is the bottom end and unless lucky I doubt you'll find a good one with reasonable mileage for that. For 6-7k you can find a nice car and put your own stamp on it. You will want to modify it at some stage so save some of your budget for that plus some for any maintenance that may be required. Good luck in your search and hope to see some pics when you find one!
  3. Silkolene Pros S for my P1, its not cheap but then neither is a new engine!! Go to Opie Oils website and fill out the little questionnaire and Guy will reccomend the oil for you. www.opieoils.co.uk

  6. Can anyone tell me what's happening with this site? Seems from what I've read it's been having a few problems but that was back in May.
  7. Thanks for the offer M&G but want the crystal items to match the rest OK it's started....... Today I have ordered... TSL Firestorm (centre section is brand new so can't justify changing this yet!) STi Rear Lights Crystal Indicators I forgot the Mud Flaps! Let the (tasteful) Mods begin!
  8. Kev, the STI 5 in the end was too high a risk because it had a front end smash and on second inspection revealed a few horrors! Saw this P1 and well the rest is history! You still got the same car mate? Re: de-tangoing, i have the side repeaters and am ordering the indicators today! Might be tempted for a cat back system too as the tunnel run is looming! lol 'Top Bombing' ?? I must be getting old! Thanks everyone for the comments
  9. Thanks guys It's a great car! No rattles or knocks, feels like new!
  10. The STI 5 didnt happen, so I bought a P1 instead! No. 1010, beautiful car and came with factory options of... upgraded front discs and calipers, P1 tail pipe, STI Carbon Strut Brace and a nice set of Buddy Club 17's. The guy even had the crystal sidelights, indicator repeaters and spot covers which he threw in for nowt. Has to be one of the best around and only 38k on the clock. Oh and guess what?......... It goes like a ***** **** ***** *****!! lol
  11. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good bodykit supplier? I'm looking for a P1/Jun type splitter, STI 8 bonnet scoop (to fit classic MY98) and an STI v5 rear spoiler Cheers Muchly
  12. Thanks will do! Just tried their site but it's under reconstruction, where about's in the Uk are they?
  13. Cheers Kip/Sbeats, where do I find this chappie and does he supply the kits as well or is there somwhere better to get them?
  14. Hi Dooahh! Just been enlightened by PM christ was a mess (alledgedly ) So I take it Mrs Ade never got her Scoob then? It was about that time that i left the forums. To be fair, Jon was only ever helpful and friendly to me and was always on the end of the phone to help sort my car. Shame, he seemed like he was genuine enough.
