Hey folks Nice to see this place is still about, been a while since I've read or wrote on this place. Anyway Im looking for some info or advice please I had a warning light come on my Impreza 2002 WRX with a few light mods, nothing serious. Mainly Turbo back exhaust changes. Anyway I took it down to Chris Alan at East Linton Services who plugged it in to his handheld to reveal it was the Knock sensor playing up. Anyway that was last week and we discussed it and choose to simply reset it and see how it goes. But today this morning it came back on and shortly after I think the car when in to Limp mode as the power was mostly gone in the higher RPMs and I didnt want to push it. It was a little unsmooth as well applying what power was left as well. Anyway my question is about weather this sensor going would cause this effect, because if thats a no I worried I'm in for a large or expensive issue. Regards Pete one worried owner

Evo for me, I stand by the my view that the new scooby looks crap. Its going soft in its old age, when I saw the WRX at the highland show I walked past it and straight to the Mitsa stand for the Evo. Shame really, I still love my bugeye. Heres hoping Toyota buy them up and make a better Impreza in future

ok the liquid gurge noise is coming from the passenger dash area or that area of the engine bay against the passenger dash area if that makes sense....

This has been doing this for months on and off, would a head gasket not go fast? Also it got its MOT in Feb and Chris Alan at east linton who did the MOT said nothing about any issues. Mind you would a MOT person or Chris notice that when doing a MOT?

Well I noticed this on and off for some time, but nearly all the time after I have started the car in the morning I get a gurgling liquid noise from the what would be dash/engine bay area when reving the car. Its not always there at times and generally never after the car has been running for a while. Can any tell me what it is? I'm a bit worried it could be bad :S Air Con? Cheers Pete

Me, Andy and a friend went this year and Marshaled at 2 night time stages where we didnt finish until about 3am in the morning, cold, wet and full WRC imprezas I wanted to nick parts from. We rented a 6 person Cottage but they make you take it for 2 weeks! 3 people pulled out to!!!!

What like that and the fact its as ugly as sin? I could just about live with the saloon having some redesigned front parts and in STi Flavour, but this hatchback sucks.

Its better than the WRX but then again thats always been the same for every year of WRX and STI. It still looks like crap and would only have one to sell it for the money

Looks like you folks took in some of the roads I took load of people around 2 years ago on a run Stopped at that very pub and passed a good few of those roads to, stop at Jedburgh for Optimax by any chance? Hope they were fun, did you try the back road from Cappercleuch (St Marys Lake) to the Megget then Talla out at Tweedsmuir on the Moffat road? We did that nearly pitch dark on our run, had some people crapping theirselves that time. Nothing like a 300 foot drop on a single track road with a half up stone ###### wall. I think the decline was about 30-40% lol FUN

They both look the same, the wrx handles like a bag of you know what and Subaru are going down faster than the titanic. Not even the STI or the WRC car looks reasonable. Say hello to Toyota folks because Japans changing its rules on companies buying each other shortly and Totyota is highly tipped to buy them. Sorry state of affairs I'm a bugeye owner and I dont feel like the odd one of the family anymore, welcome to the 2008 Impreza the worse looking one of the lot.
