  1. you could try talking to Duncan at Racedynamix, he travels and will tell you if he can do anything with it.
  2. thing is, if you had to have an estate would you prefer a Vauxhall, Saab, Merc or a Scooby? in the 'if I had to have an estate' stakes I like it, but in general I agree it is too much like the others. (if you catch my drift)
  3. i'm having mine mapped on Wednesday with Ducan (Racedynamix). if you have at his website and look up the tuning for the wrx / sti, a remap on a totally standard car will give approx. 250 - 260bhp. mods like decat exhaust and panel filter can stretch it out to 280 - 290bhp. have a look and see what you can get for your budget.
  4. hi ans welcome. nice looking blob you have there
  5. 1. Lewis 2. Davey L WRX 3. Phil MC 4. Mctwistuk(aka Chris(aka tom cruise))
  6. I was with 1st central. apparently, and I don't know tru this is but is has come from good sources, the insurance info, including mods, is held on a database that they can access. it sounds far fetched but better be safe than sorry.
  7. having heard from a few different sources that the police can now access your insurance details at the roadside and will book you for undeclared mods (insurance will be void too) I thought I had better get in contact with my insurance company. I am having a remap next week and thought I had better tell them about it and the mods taking place in preparation. I gave them a call and told them that I already have 18" BBS alloys, STI splitter and boot spoiler, a stainless exhaust (road legal) and a cosworth panel filter. well, I was expecting the old 'we won't insure your wheels' quote to come back from them but instead they told me that the spoiler and the stainless exhaust wasn't covered. I told them that the spoiler was a factory fit option but they told me to prove that it was fitted from new or they wouldn't pay if I was in an accident! I bought the car used so how the hell do I prove that??? they also told me that they would insure a mild steel replacement exhaust but not a stainless one which I find hard to understand if it is a road legal system? anyway, all this was before I mentioned the boost solenoid, remap, 2nd cat delete pipe all to go on the car this week. so to cut a long story short they cancelled my policy (without cancellation fee) there and then ! so a quick call to Gary at Keith Michaels, a deposit over the phone and I am covered for the mods both present and planned and only £180 more / year than what I was paying. (I would rather pay the extra and be covered than have an accident and be told to prove parts of my car are factory fitted or get no payment !!!) so big thanks you to Gary Keith Michaels and to those undertaking mods, check with your insurance company before doing anything or they will void your insurance. in fact I would read the small print as it seems like they are after any excuse not to pay out. I would imagine even after market stereos would come into this? Be warned.
  8. looking forward to the release of 7....(sad I know but I love the Fast and furious franchise)
  9. yeah, I was messing I don't think I'm cut out for this stand up comedy..........i'll get my coat
  10. ok, not subarus but alongside my hawk in the stable sit a BMW Z3 (exactly the same colour combo as the one used in goldeneye) and a Hyundai coupe gen3 (wife's car).
  11. Bosch filter and triple qx 5w30 fully synthetic.
  12. did mine yesterday and followed the 'fill up the filter first' and foot to the floor to dry crank the engine routine which is something I have never done before but thought i'd give it a go. didn't seem to make a difference to the dry filer then start the car routine but better be safe than sorry I suppose. I couldn't believe how black the oil was after 6k miles so will be doing it more often from now on.
  13. I've been on a few forums over the years for different cars I've owned. I find that some are really good but others have too much of a clique. one particular forum was banning people for setting up their own 'subsidiary' forums that catered for their geographical areas. if the forum gets way too large I find that it tends to get split up with the various 'groups' arguing and causing bad atmospheres. as it seems this forum has dropped in numbers then why don't we, instead of moaning about the lack of interest, try to make it a close knit community that is a pleasure to be apart of and then it may attract more posts (and possibly members?) for a start, lets get some local meets together and then concentrate, as said earlier, on a central meet to encompass all? I for one will try and organise a meet / drive out if anyone is interested? (we could also post up on other forums - not just imprezas but all models of Subaru - to invite more people along and get the Subaru family back together.
  14. ok, sounds like a challenge (now I have to figure out how to set up camera! ) does it have to be car related?
  15. well, i'm still here, lurking on the side a meet 1/2 way is a great idea! perhaps mid way through next year? I think it would get all parties interested again
  16. welcome along.......look forward to the pics, I just love the RBs
  17. very nice......like the arty landscape pic too. welcome along.
  18. no, i mean decat......only the second cat though, i will be keeping the first cat in place (downpipe) as this will pass the mot. i have discussed the type of power delivery i am after and keeping this cat instaed of sports cat will be fine for what i am after. (for now anyway)
