    4Th May Postponed

i think i will be going. i am up there next week doing a refresher day at at the hill climb.
  2. yep, we did indeed meet that evening - the car's looking good, you have been busy on it.
  3. i have a hawk wrx and with just an exhaust (still 1 cat in place) a panel filter and a racedynamix remap i am pushing 285bhp (over standard STI power) but being the 2.5 its the torque that is so impressive, mine is 330lb/ft and it pulls like a train. with just a vf35 and another remap it can go to well over 300bhp. the gearbox is supposed to be good for 350bhp. the total cost to get this figure......approx £700 including the remap.
  4. there is a blue Hawk STi just moved in a few houses from me (Abbeymead) which has SIDC stickers and Forge stickers in the back windows. anyone on here?
  5. sorry guys, now working next weekend so no show for me.
  6. looks like I'll be around on that weekend (unless the work schedule changes)
  7. :thumbs:I came to one of the lechlade meets last year and it was good so lets do it again
  8. possibly, I will check my diary at work and see if I'm here that weekend.
  9. :thumbs:take the cost of a decent oil burner and use it to do an LPG conversion on the scoob.
  10. just to clarify the road noise thing.....when i bought my BBS wheels they wee fitted with fullrun tyres (cheap crap) and although they seemed to grip ok the road noise was horrible. i have a loud(ish) exhaust system and the tyre noise drowned even this out and really gave me headache especially at speed on the motorway! it sounded like i had a fleet of army landrovers around me....that horrible whirring noise they get from their knobbly tyres. now i have changed them all i can hear is the lovely burble from the pipe again and no road noise.
  11. i have recently changed to Avons and i have found the grip to be really good especially in the wet, very little tyre noise and i haven't noticed any change in fuel economy (or lack of in the case of scoobys ) i can't remember which Avons i have but i will have a look tomorrow.
  12. Hi and welcome. you won't regret buying a subaru
  13. Hi and welcome, you're not too far from me. i'll let you know if there's a meet or drive out happening. there is a couple of us going to the stage rally in bream nr weston super mud on the 26th Jan if you fancy going? (£5 per person and £5 parking)
  14. thanks, i have had another look and it seems i was a little cautious when tighteneing the nuts. i have re-tightened them again and it seems to have cured the problem.
  15. Hi and welcome. if the club doesn't have a stand at Japfest (although they usually do) some of us will be attending so could always organise a meet.
  16. yeah, had to swap mine over when i started on the mods and keith Michaels came out the best on their modified car policy.
  17. yeah, thought so, i'll get a new one. thanks
  18. before I went for a remap I made a few changes to the car and this included swapping the standard fuel pump for a Walbro 255 which I swapped over myself. I managed to spill a bit due to forgetting to take off the fuel cap and thus causing the tank to self purge and this caused a fuel smell in the car for a week or two. now, 2 months on, I still get the occasional whiff of fuel and the thing that concerns me is that with the old pump when I was getting low on fuel and took of the fuel cap to fill up, there would be a 'woof' noise as the vacuum in the tank released but now there seems to be no vacuum and no noise. is this normal or have I not sealed the pump mounting plate back into the tank correctly giving me a bad seal? any advice would be welcome as I am now a bit confused.
  19. Hi and welcome. nice photos
