  1. Someone died for **** sake. Not sure if t-cut would bring back the poor guys life.
  2. I just got the one of the 306, clicky for full size shot
  3. Nice set of shots for your first time with the 100-400 Davie! It does take some time to get used to it, but things are looking very promising!
  4. You could well be correct with the 280bhp Grant, all I know is that it's pretty damned quick (I know nothing about mechanics 'n stuff) My mother in law is not so keen, I can see her holding on in the back when she's in it saying "IT'S GOING TO TAKE OFF"
  5. Ross, it's the 2.5, exactly the same as a UK model, and has better seats Mind you, it only has 2 airbags instead of 6. It's never been on a rolling road, so I can't say about power, the book was 265 though (I think). edited to say, when I mentioned it's worth approx 14k, 'er indoors went a bit mental . So as close to that price as possible would be lovely.
  6. Thanks a lot Grant, swap you for a bag of crisps? RS4 is on hold for a year, Mrs Hero is pregnant and we need two cars. Looking at a very tidy Audi tomorrow though, and going to get a wee Fiat 500 sport thing for me to get to work and back (stuck in traffic all the way ) edited to say, thanks Gav! Might just bite the bullet and say farewell to my car tomorrow though. Not sure if I can be a***d with the hassle of selling first..
  7. Hello, Selling/trading in my car, and the prices seem varied on pistonheads and the likes. I'm going to see a new motor tomorrow night and am not sure about the selling private vs trading in stuff. Anyhow, it's a: 2006 (56 plate, registered Sep 06) Impreza STi Type UK (Euro import) Obsidian Black 25k on the clock Taxed until November 2009 1 careful owner, never on track Full Subaru service history (20k was done in January 09, new front pads needed and have been fitted) Prodrive backbox Stainless steel mid section Flaps Tints Tracker Monitor Immobiliser thingy (lots of security as the imports had none as standard) Front strut brace All the rest is completely standard. There's a couple of scuffs on the alloys, nothing major though (bloody women ) In general, it is in excellent condition. I know the markets are a bit up and down, but an approximate trade in price, and selling private privately price would be helpful. Thanks in advance, Neil.
  8. FPC spoke nicely to the guy, the marshall was ok as long as we stuck to the fence (away from the rally).
  9. fpc, no worries mate Nice shots! Stephen, are you now shopping for an L then Nice shots too! caribexr2, I just got the one somehow, it's not the best. Clicky for full size version
  10. and I'll be there to catch you and your crazy driving John
  11. Some shots from today. Grant, that thing is amazing mate, very well done for getting your hands on it Not the best shots in the world, never mind.. Cheers, Neil. p.s. give me a shout when you are through this way next!
  12. I think everyone needs to chill out here. I said that I wasn't keen on the HDR, you asked for an opinion on them Geo, which I gave. I also mentioned that the photographer was very good, there really is some great stuff on his site. Why has this moved onto "us 'non-pro's' don't want to post photos on sidc" thing? And who are all these Pro Photographers on SIDC? Col666 is the only one I know. If you don't want feedback on photos then don't ask for it.
  13. Nice shots Paul! Excellent day, if not a bit chilly. I'm still thawing out (and have been home for an hour).. Good to meet up with everyone today though, it's been a while! Some of my shots, you can view the whole set or view the set as a slideshow oops View the set to see the series of shots! Mind you, my camera was totally on the wrong settings when this happened.. Cracking day folks! Neil. p.s. I have lots more shots but don't have the time to upload them just now.
  14. Cheers Steve I didn't mean for you to rip the photo Geo. I agree about the mona lisa, not my cup of tea either As I said earlier, as long as you like the photos, that's all that matters! Shucks (cheque is in the post Andy). Do you have a bigger photo Jimmy? That one is a little small..
  15. Geo, you did say "let me know what you think"? Am I supposed to say these are excellent and lie? I could have just ignored this thread mind you.. I'm anything but a pro, unlike the guy you used, the shots on his site are very good! This is one of my shots, rip it apart, go on You are happy with your shots, like I'm very happy with this one, that's all that matters really. p.s. that's HDR too
  16. Post away chap, it's the only way to learn to be honest. Almost everything I know about photography I've learnt of this here internet. You have to take the good with the bad if you are asking for comments, as Geo was with this post.
  17. I understand that, your previous post on the other hand..
  18. As long as the client is happy, that's all that matters Geo Grant, In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows. High dynamic range imaging was originally developed in the 1930s and 1940s by Charles Wyckoff. Wyckoff's detailed pictures of nuclear explosions appeared on the cover of Life magazine in the mid 1940s. The process of tone mapping together with bracketed exposures of normal digital images, giving the end result a high, often exaggerated dynamic range, was first reported in 1993, and resulted in a mathematical theory of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter that was published in 1995 by Steve Mann and Rosalind Picard. In 1997 this technique of combining several differently exposed images to produce a single HDR image was presented to the computer graphics community by Paul Debevec. This method was developed to produce a high dynamic range image from a set of photographs taken with a range of exposures. With the rising popularity of digital cameras and easy-to-use desktop software, the term HDR is now popularly used to refer to this process. This composite technique is different from (and may be of lesser or greater quality than) the production of an image from a single exposure of a sensor that has a native high dynamic range. Tone mapping is also used to display HDR images on devices with a low native dynamic range, such as a computer screen. I never typed that by the way
  19. Nice car, shame about the processing. There's no talent in the work done on these shots in my opinion, the actual photos themselves are pretty good, but are spoiled by the work done on them. HDR is a piece of cake, and it's so easy to go over the top with it (as shown in these photos), but if done properly HDR can look pretty amazing. Not my cup of tea, sorry.
  20. Sounds a bit dodgy, I never top mine up between services.
  21. Ian Grieves are good, used them for a couple of years now. Much cheaper than AF Nobles. Mind you, I'm still waiting on a call regarding my chocolate shocks
