  1. Not a fan. Does it squeek 'n rattle any less then previous models after a couple of weeks from new Gav
  2. Black isn't the easiest colour to shoot Stuart, having a decent amount of light (or playing with long exposure) is the best solution. My boy ^ hardly straight from the camera, quite a bit of work done on that shot..
  3. There are mines up in Aberdeen? Jeez
  4. <xsl:variable name="adj_revenue_canada"> <xsl:call-template name="do_scaling"> <xsl:with-param name="scale" select="$scale_factor_revenue" /> <xsl:with-param name="value" select="$revenue_canada" /> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:variable>
  5. Thanks It sure is a transformation, used it tonight for the first time for a proper sit-down-meal, BIG difference in ambiance
  6. Cheers That's more praise than my wife gave me Stephen, will you marry me? I went to get me new camera a few weeks back, she was with me. "What am I getting" she said, "You are getting a new kitchen" I said She didn't appreciate that, women...
  7. Cheers, it's bloody hard work Gordon, it's cool, there are still some to fit in the dining room section
  8. been rather busy the last month In the beginning, started knocking the wall down between my kitchen and dining room. Ripped the old ceiling out, removed all tiles.. Ahh, that's better Left the plastering and electrics to those more qualified than me.. Now I just need to fit all this in there Getting there now. 29 lights in total, some work via remote and most are dimmable. Also installing an audio system and touch screen pc for the telly/music stuff. Flooring installed by a pro, didn't want to risk $crewing it up Just the dining room side to do and I'm done. All designed and installed myself in the last month. Jeez, I'm knackered
  9. Excellent choice Davie Keep your eyes on camerapricebuster, it's like a comparison site for camera gear. The 7D and the 24-105
  10. Not necessarily true, tried to sell my hawkeye sti for a few months at the end of last year with no interest. 1 owner, low mileage, FSSH, very subtle mods, spotless car. Someone, somewhere got a cracker of a car. Good luck OP with the sell though!
  11. Just finished more work in my kitchen. 18 hour days for the last two weeks Progress though, on the finishing touches now!
  12. HAND LUGGAGE! Don't let them throw your camera gear around.
  13. Forget Aperture Priority & Shutter Priority, learn the M button mate. It's so rewarding when using manual, does take a bit of getting used to, but I really wasn't impressed with the AV/TV options on my first dslr. These numbers don't look like the shutter speed, not so sure about Nikon either. Got a manual for the camera?
  14. The first 3 look over exposed, the last two are much better (although the location could be better). Black isn't the easiest colour to photograph, it really is better just changing settings to suit light/location/weather. A tripod is a must, this means you can play around with slow shutter speed (long exposure). Here's a couple of my old Impreza, not the best shots in the world, it's just to give you an idea of settings. The exif: Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 0.003 sec (1/320) Aperture f/2.8 Focal Length 70 mm ISO Speed 100 Flash Off, Did not fire Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 10 sec (10) Aperture f/22 Focal Length 27 mm ISO Speed 100 Flash Flash did not fire Quite a bit of processing done on this one Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture f/4 Focal Length 25 mm ISO Speed 100 Didn't have my tripod when I took this shot, bummer Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 0.013 sec (1/80) Aperture f/2.8 Focal Length 70 mm ISO Speed 200 Flash Flash did not fire And of course, you can always go a bit wild! Definitely use a tripod if tackling this stuff! Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 30 sec (30) Aperture f/4 Focal Length 17 mm ISO Speed 200 Flash Flash did not fire A couple of shots I did for someone, really lucky with the light conditions on this day. Again, "some" processing done on these two Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture f/5.0 Focal Length 22 mm ISO Speed 100 Flash Off, Did not fire Camera Canon EOS 40D Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture f/5.0 Focal Length 10 mm ISO Speed 100 Flash Off, Did not fire You could get into off camera lighting, but that could turn out to be very expensive!
  15. yes, although would prefer to sell everything as a bundle.
  16. Sure is! If I needed a fourth dslr I would snap it out of his hands in a second!
  17. If this is the kit they are talking about, it's not a bad deal. The 18-55 isn't the best lens in the world, and I've not tried the tamron 70-300, but did have a tamron 55-200 a while back which I wasn't so keen on, very soft at maximum zoom. I have a canon 30D sitting in front of me just now, hardly used (far better camera than the 450D). It is my father in laws, it was his second body (when he needed to use two) as he has a 40D also. He's just upgraded to the 7D and has the 30D up for sale. Due to my success at selling other stuff for him through here & pistonheads, he's trusted me to find a lovely new user for it. He just dropped it off to me tonight, not advertised it anywhere yet He's taken about 6,000 shots with it, which is nothing for these cameras. It's extremely well looked after, like all his gear. It has a wee scrape on the plastic on the top corner where he scraped it against a wall while taking a shot, there was no force involved though. Other than that it's as good as new! Comes with the Canon battery grip (and two batteries), very useful as it holds two batteries and makes it so much easier for shooting portrait shots, this cost him £150, excluding the price of the batteries. He's also thrown in a 2gb CF card, although you'll probably need more than that for a safari! It also comes with all the cables, discs, manuals and a couple of very user friendly, comprehensive books covering everything about the 30D in much more detail (and simpler terms) than the manual that comes with it. He's looking for £380 for everything (no lens remember, but an 18-55 can be picked up for peanuts and the 70-300 is £130 brand new). excuse the crap shot, just took this the now phew, let me know if you are interested. Neil.
  18. And £17,000 for a set of tyres (which must be fitted at the factory at France). and they only last about 2000 miles. How do you explain that to the wife
  19. you will all end up like this ^ not my photo
  20. Only got it for the 8 frames per second icedog, it's an amazing thing though! Mind you, the L lenses help.
  21. Only used it once (yesterday), but the results are fantastic Just need to read the manual. Definitely an impressive piece of kit though
  22. Got a new camera today, this means I have a surplus Canon 350D, 18-55mm lens, Canon BG-E3 battery grip, two batteries, and I'll throw in a couple of memory cards too All boxed, and in excellent working order! The 350D has a few dust spots in the viewfinder, but this doesn't show in the photos. Make me an offer
