  1. you could be right cos sport special was full turbo spec vented bonnet etc....except for engine which was 2 litre non turbo....i'm pretty sure the seats were same as uk turbo other than being black and yellow instead of black and grey.... that and they only made five hundred of them...

  2. right lads i used to work in the trade doing i.c.e builds/engine conversions etc....my trade is panel beater and spray painter.... right now i'm in sales.. :)

i'm more than confident when it comes to dealing with electrics (having done a fair few engine conversions/complete rewires in the past)

i've got the wiring diagram/installation instructions here for it so its more or less a case of mounting the solenoid/ what ever other sensors are needed.....

i'm in blantyre if yer wanna pop over sometime so's i can get a better look at what exactly is going to be involved with it...... we can take it from there.

what you looking to do stewartyboy???.... i.c.e??

you know where to find me ... ;)

  3. its only started leaking since it froze so there's summit went on it.....

tbh its a decent enough motor with a good strong engine its just the aftermath of the coolant freezing thats annoying me.....

quick question...does the gasket go right round the rear of the pump including the rear of the thermo housing???? beginning to think thats what it is...

i see your point mate i just prefer doing my own repairs..been fcuked about to much in the past with garages.........

the only things i don't touch are timing belts lol

  4. its defo not the thermo housing..... the leak is behind it when looking from the front....

how much of a job is it to do the water pump?????

is it a timing belt off job?????

would the coolant freezing kill the pump and or seal?????

yeah i aint had much luck with this one at all...... i've had more hassle with this one car than what i've had with the other 4 i've had in the past year......

  5. after all the isht ave had due to me coolant freezing i've now got a leak at the front of my turbo 2000 on the right hand side front of the block (when looking from the front).

it appears to be coming from behind the thermo housing but at the same time it doesn't appear to be any of the 2 pipes which come up over the block to the back near the throttle body, does anyone have any possible ideas??? so far i've got the rad out and bottom hose off...

i'm hoping the block aint fecked.. it's dripping at a rate of twice a second with the engine off and no pressure in the system......

  6. tbh i neglected to check the anti freeze situation.....therev was anti freeze in it but obviously there wasn't enough... :(

i've had a mate over and he's compression tested it and given it the :( so hopefully there's no hidden damage...

what i'm thinkin is that the core plug has already been on its last legs and the cold spell has been the last straw..the water freezing has done it right in..!

my next step is to replace the blown core plug... anyone know where i can get them?? its about the size of a five p piece???

other than pishing water all over the place she's running fine.... :)

cheers for the help guys..... :)

i'll get pics up of said plug....

  7. where do i start...;)

went out to the scoob... turned the key and she started... noticed she had no water in her??? filled water up in header tank next to turbo.... now its pissing water :P... it appears to be coming from under the intercooler.. i can see the water lying on top of engine...and steam an ****!!!

    anyone any ideas???

i've taken the intercooler out so far but there's so many hoses etc i don't know where to start..

    cheers in advance guys :D

(edit) dug deeper and found that the water is coming from what appears to be a corroded core plug (about size of a five pence piece) which is below the throttle body.........???

would chemical metal suffice as a repair or am i gonna have to go through a shed load of grief to replace it???

  8. no probs :D

next question is where the sensors are located???

sorry if i've been a pest...i know feck all about scoobies as far as this kinda stuff goes.....wouldn't get rid of it though....would rather walk than not have a scoob... ;)
