I had thought about getting new wheels or painting the existing standard alloys, but decided on getting bigger wheels which I thought would sit better. I had to wait a number of months for these to become available, but well happy with the result. Put these on a few months back. other side and one more for luck There was a bit of a different feel to the car at first with the bigger wheels. Now it just feels right, and its taking shape to where its going to go......

You will be happy in the end when you get one, no doubt about it.

Next up was to get my sills colour coded. Had thought about getting the twisty style sills but opted to stick with the ones on the car. Also had the front and rear bumper painted. and again more tmw

Well I never did get around to doing a newbie post when I joined up so with this thread I will do a 'Here is my car and what Ive doing wth it since I got her' type thread. I bought this My02 wrx in Dec 08. It is my 1st Impreza, always wanted one blah blah etc etc . I joined up here June 09. It would seem that I have succumbed to the modding bug, as you do, and it has been great fun so far. So here she is when I got her, in all her glorious megastandardness.... Right then, enuff of that, lets get the first basic mod done, up to Hypertech for a Hayward and Scott centre and backbox... Sounding a bit more like it should then. A bit after this I changed the side markers, repeaters and shoved on some mudflaps, Around aug last year the engine light was going on and off a few times, new neutral switch was fitted by Dunc. A nameless Sub dealer had indicated that my uppipe may have been on its way out, so i took the decision to fit some other bits and get remapped. Dunc fitted Hayward and Scott uppipe, 2nd cat pipe, uprated fuel pump, plugs etc, resonator box removed. Off I went down to Andy for a remap. Great day, good fun and ended up with an average over the 2 runs with 273bhp 300ftlb. The car was lively as, and I was very happy. More updates and pics to follow, early start tmw....

I should point out that when I had my 2nd cat removed I also had my uppipe cat removed (MY02 wrx) so as per Hypertech it was remap time for me, plus I was looking for extra power as I had now fitted all my goodies ready for remap time. I can recall Dunc and Andy mentioning boost issues or something like that when cats are removed. But for me with the uppipe cat away it was a def remap. I see your point in just removing the 2nd cat and thats it, as Richie said it would prob be fine. With my 2nd cat removed there was more burble which was a bonus. Cheers.

Good work Richie. Looks great in blue. And as above, there is a certain white car that does inspire me too

Welcome. Cmon the bugs!

With limited knowledge.... You could remove both cats or remove the second cat and fit a sportscat downpipe. Ive heard you really need the 100cell type. With that it should pass the mot or for the former a friendly mot place may be required. Or else just remove the second cat and keep the downpipe cat for mot purposes. This is what I have. Andy F advised me when removing cats it is remap time. So at least you will end up with more power I reckon there are lots of quality exhausts out there. I have Hayward and Scott and like it. Others will have there recommendations. As for more burble Im not 100% on the equal, unequal thing. Cheers.

I bought an item off them on wed, recd it on thurs. Well packaged in a recycled box. Replied to my emails promptly and were really friendly on the phone when I called them. The item I wanted was actually advertised incorrectly (tenner cheaper than other items the same) but they agreed to sell at the cheaper price The only slight hiccup was that they left off the last 2 digits of my postcode on the box, but coincidently the courier was delivering at my workplace and one of the security guards who knows I drive a scoob noticed a subaru sticker on the box and must have had a look at the name and gave me a shout. Bonus, otherwise I think my package may have been slightly delayed. These things happen so other than that all good.

Simple Question ..eibach Springs .. Are They Good?
marko72 replied to Scooby Wagon Addict's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I have eibach springs with standard struts on MY02 wrx. All good. Lowers the car nicely. I did notice the ride was firmer when goin over wee bumps etc but I dont notice it at all now. -
Cool, there was an sti identical to yours parked by mine today, mind you didnt notice if it a scoobydoo at the rear window lol. Cheers
-
Wee Jock, you werent in Inverclyde today were you? Cheers mark.

heh heh, no alarms, but enjoying the stares Bring it on!

Well I have finally released more burble that i wanted lol, fitted an Afterburner Vortex backbox ( thanks Double Zero) so I have a nice louder sound coming out of my rear. . It also makes nice sound effects on low revs etc. Would post a pic but Im sure everyone knows what one looks like. I wasnt a fan of that look before but its grown on me and sounds great, so happy daze Cheers also to Hypertech.

Would need a bigger pic of the car overall to decide. Prob a good idea to wrap the roof if you have bars on and need to protect your paintwork from damage when loading/offloading roofboxes, bikes etc.

Hi. Go and test drive a few wagons, get a feel for what you are looking for if you havent done so already. Dont buy the first one you see, unless it is spot on and ticks all the boxes. Take someone who has knowledge if you can. Look for the obvious good points, service history, receipts, etc. It was the 7th Impreza that I went to view that I bought in the end. I live in Inverclyde so would like to mention that Autobahn on Roslin St have sorted me out locally for a few wee things here and there, car normally looked after by Hypertech in Bonnybridge. A few of them in there are jap car enthusiasts and have a lot of knowledge so that may give you a bit of piece of mind to have some local help. Sorted my hoses and cooling system for me. Job well done. When you get one ill give you a wave
