Cheers guys, got it sorted via an ethernet patch cable or some yellow thing anyway the brother in law guided me through it and 7 hours later i had my data Had it lying about and needed info transferred within the day. Thanks for the info though, I will remember this if i ever have to go through that nonsense again

Hi, hope someone can help. Just got a new laptop and wondering what the fastest way to transfer my pictures, documents etc would be? It's 34gb of stuff needing moved and I am not patient Don't have a portable hard drive yet, and my biggest memory stick is 2gb (ridiculous, I know! ) Also, the first new laptop I got from Comet a few weeks ago had a dodgy mouse pad and after much fighting, I got them to replace it with a new laptop. I had already made back up discs for the first one, and seeing as I did a straight swap for the exact same model, I am thinking I don't need to do more for the new one? Hope someone can help, Cheers
