  1. Sold a good number of cars on gumtree, it makes a huge difference having different area pages, means you can search the whole site or just the ones nearest you. The fact that it's free usually wins me over Good luck with the sale
  2. I wrote P......M and I get I touch goats? lol!
  3. Cheers for the reccomendation Paul, consider a I touch goats Scooby222 Gerry at Ace Tyres
  4. Ha, I thought I recognised you but didn't see any SIDC stickers on the car so decided you were familiar for some other reason. Never thought we would see the one pic taken of the lot of us again, go you and your pink camera Did you get many good pics from the day? think our highlight was getting to chat to the driver of the smashed scoob, Keira even got to keep the driver's programme and the kids got pictures. Good day out was had by all, the car needs a bit of suspension TLC but apart from that it was great fun to have it out and about again
  5. It's only been in Hunter's Quay twice since we put it back on the road last week. Been considering bringing it back up the road but don't think our drive will allow it after that winter we just had You been in Dunoon recently? There's a few scoobs here now, been building that last few years, mainly because of us lot though
  6. It came off the road as the clutch was on its way out. We got it fixed just in time for the Highland Fling but couldn't go as it had ran out of tax, MOT and insurance, along with all our money being sucked into the new business But, alas, it is back and just as satisfying as before . Of course, now it's insured under our motor trader's insurance so that made it easier to wrestle with the fact that is, after all, an expensive hobby! We only had to have it sail through the test and then stick a tax disc in it and we were good to go :D The feeling is great to be back in it after all those sad Mondeo months Roll on the next meet!
  7. Consider us in for the next meet, and this time, we won't be driving the mondeo Just got the scoob MOT'd, taxed and put on the business insurance today after eight sad months of it sitting in the drive feeling sorry for itself! Let the good times roll!
  8. True, but I have all the machinery now at full price At least I know it's all in good order I suppose. Never thought about the tyre pressure chart, here's hoping they did have one as I am still struggling to find somewhere to buy it! Just bought my lightbars etc so all I need now is the graphics, then you will see me following the convoys waiting for punctures Typical that they are selling everything I have struggled to find though hopefully the auction has some decent stuff, will need to check the listing the day before
  9. Sounds good, might take a gander at that cheers for the heads up
  10. Cheers guys, I have been in contact with a few garages so will keep asking about, It's just getting tedious now and I was hoping to be up and running. Fingers crossed I get it soon, thanks for the tips though Gerry
  11. Completed, all good questions worth answering
  12. Hi guys, well my mobile tyre fitting business is nearly ready to go live, however I am struggling to find the last few bits and pieces and wonder if anyone on here knows where to get a tyre pressure chart to hang on the inside of my van (y'know, like the ones in the petrol stations)? i also need my light bar for the top, found a good one for £300 but wonder if anyone knows of good shops that I might have missed? Got an almighty work light that has a remote control, think deer hunters use it, so sorted for that and my strobe lights for the grill are on the van. Hope someone can point me in the right direction, getting the hang of this internet thing slowly but surely, but I'm convinced I keep missing the important pages! Cheers for the help, Gerry
  13. Not good mate, hopefully you will get it sorted soon At least you got a pint out of it - there is always a silver lining hiding somewhere
  14. Thanks to everyone for their replies, a friend has come out of the woodwork for me and should have some ideas for me in the next few days. Stum450n, have I spoken to you previously regarding graphics? If so, thanks for all your help, I might have forgotten to reply way back when... I will deffo keep you in mind if my mate's designs don't fit the bill, but from what I am hearing they are going to be grrreat it's a waiting game now. Fraser, there will indeed be a SIDC discount, just need to figure out what exactly. Might even bring the van to a meet or two but I don't want to get into trouble for advertising here On the subject of renewing your membership I realise mine is also out of date that will be dealt with soon! Have heard of that coastline guy but as far as I am aware, he is a pal of my old boss who also owns a tyre fitting business so that might not work out too well Got samples today of the super duper relfective strips that will be on the back of the van, you will see me from miles away! Ordering them today then I will need to figure out how to put the strips on properly! This should be fun! It is all so close I can nearly taste it now, just wish the fiddly bits would sort themselves out! If only I was a creative genius! Thanks again guys, much appreciated
  15. I am in the middle of starting up my own tyre fitting business; I have the van, machinery etc. It is in the last stages and it has come to the point where I need to figure out what to put on the sides of the van. Was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good company that would help me design something from the basic ideas I have, and make up the vehicle wraps? As I said, I have a rough idea what to go with but I am not very good with drawings/ computer graphics etc, so any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
  16. This kind of makes me relieved the scoob is off the road just now... until the Highland Fling The issue better be sorted by then or we are all buggered!
  17. fooking hell mate, what happened? was that a while ago? fecking saxos!! didn't understand why he did it either, but he was dragged round to the house by his dad and made to grovel, so that would appear to be the end of it what injuries did you sustain because of that wee d!ck? Hope you weren't too badly damaged, that was lovely car too
  18. Car got recovered at the wee guy's expense this afternoon. I knew one of his friends and had him pass a message on to say if it wasn't away by noon it would end up on his doorstep. Also told him it was wise to apologize to mum as she nearly had a heart attack when it happened, no sign of him yet... Getting mixed stories from the gossip mongers around the town. Apparently he passed the breathalyser test (?) but still didn't have insurance. He better not get away with this! His grandpa is a retired, well known policeman in Dunoon and I wonder if he will be trying to pull strings to get him off Also, the car that sped out of the drive got caught, but I'm hearing he was on foot when he was arrested. Just wish someone would come and tell us, think we have a right to know, surely? At least it's away from the house now, but there is still glass and crap all over the drive, cleared as much as we could up but its gravel so not so easy to ensure it's all gone. Worrying every time we drive past it, and can't let the dogs near that bit for a while. Found out about 6 months ago he actually crashed his first car (Corsa). When I say crash, I am talking about him being at the top of the rest, going over the barrier and tumbling down into the valley where that wee house is (i.e the original rest and be thankful). His sister thought he should be dead already, she sounded rather annoyed he wasn't in the car when it went on fire - you can tell he is a good kid eh! Only 18 too, originally thought he was older. Apparently always comes out the other side smelling of roses! Surprised his mother hasn't frog marched him up to our house to apologize yet; if it had been me, my mum would have dragged me by the ear to deal with what I had caused! Hoping the car not being there anymore stops all the wee bastewards coming up and snooping about the house at night now
  19. Best ebay listing I've seen in a while
  20. Went to Dunoon this weekend to do the Mother's Day thing. My poor scoob has taken two beatings in one day!!! First of all, my dad was messing about and has dented the drivers wing and it isn't comng out easy Then, later on that night, we had been watching movies at Empty Heed's house. She chucked us out at half 3 sunday morning as she was going to Crail so it was early to bed for us at the parent's house (usually leave hers around half 4). Fell asleep at about 4am, woke up at 4.55am to a lovely French bonfire in our driveway...some wee w***stain decided to get leathered in the pub then take his car for a spin - minus insurance. What ever happened next we are unsure of but this is what we saw from the living room window after mum screamed the house down... The guy had driven off the main road and into our driveway where it looks like he has used an accellerant to set it alight. I ran out the house, mum thought my machinery in my van ie generator had exploded, Vicci thought the subaru had been attacked, and I thought the mondeo (daily driver that we had just parked up an hour before) had blown up. Instead, I found a Saxo alight, flames higher than the trees (and directly under two power lines) and explosions galore, with a guy standing at the bottom looking at the inferno. Scoped him out to be a guy on the way home from work who heard an explosion, came over the brow of the hill and saw a green car wheelspin out the driveway at stupid speeds. Emergency services were called and the police managed to catch the guy pretty quick. Far too close to the house for comfort!! We live in the woods, so any noise outiside is worthy of investigation. The way the wind was blowing, the flames were heading for the van, the van is right beside the scoob if the transit had caught fire, the scoob would have been gone, the house would have got it, and the other 4 cars would have been damaged = complete devastation because of one bloody 19 year old! He was let out Sunday some point. Am sure he came up in another car but when Vicci tried to approach the car (twice) it sped off each time. Now we are left with this in the driveway and cosidering he has no insurance, who knows when it will get taken away. My thought on the matter is to deposit the car off in his own garden with the help of a friend and his recovery truck Happy fecking mothers day!
  21. The only thing half decent about them is that 555 badge
  22. Much thanks to Ally-B, the flywheel fits and is in will need to get the other one back to you soon Thought we had a problem as the car wouldn't fire but it looks like it's just a dodgy wire in the starter motor. All it needs is an MOT and it will be all good for the Highland Fling Thanks again mate, you are a lifesaver
  23. Cheers mate, that's brilliant see you in the morning and fingers crossed by lunch time I have a car that works Car is stuck on the ramp and Paddy's boss needs it shifted by 1pm, time is ticking
  24. Started the clutch on the scoob tonight in my mate's work. Got the gearbox and clutch out and realised the flywheel in my car is uprated and wont fit with the clutch I have. Now the car is stuck in the garage and it has to be out of there by tomorrow, I really need to get hold of one tomorrow morning Any help would do, thanks in advance
