  5. I have been on a similar hunt and whilst online can be useful, I found word of mouth & keeping my eyes open for little to let signs to be much more fruitful
  6. Thought I should officially introduce myself, as you can see I have been a member since 09 when I bought my first classic. I am planning to spend a bit more time here on sidc I am from Lancashire , it seems pretty quiet in that section on the website (north west) - are there many NW members? Pete

Hi, I run shell helix 5w40 fully synth, the last 2 oil changes I have bought it from euro car parts when they were doing their 30% off offer, the bonus is delivery is included - all for £26 I think it might still be running but you will have to check. I believe it was one of the recommended oils by Subaru too to not 100%
  8. No problems that I can see on the face of it, but see my other thread - I have had increased popping with the warmer weather which has made me a bit paranoid. I am refitting the mid pipe cat shortly
  9. You have 3 cats in the system however you can run with just the downpipe cat and pass the mot. The other cats are in the up-pipe and centre section - these can be removed with no MOT issues. This is how mine is currently running (no remap) - 2002 WRX.

  11. ^^ opinions are split on dump valves (or chav horns as some people call them :-) ) I have had a DV in the past when i bought my 2003 WRX, i took it off and have never looked back really. Thats just my opinion though. Specifically re the baileys - i have read they can leak boost. also not sure if there would be a fitment issue with it not coming from a Impreza.
  12. We were replacing the pads on my mates so the calipers needed to come off anyway. Our method for removal was (with the caliper still attached) was to use a socket / small extension bar on the end of the pin and try tapping it out,this will possibly deform the end of the pin BUT will get it moving enough (away from the car) to allow you to hacksaw behind the head of the pin. Once you have hacksawed the head of the pin off you can then hit the pin the other way back out the way it came (towards the car). This method worked sucessfully on all 4 pins. Hope this helps
