  1. Bugger! (But thanks for the answer...) Just as well speed cameras are infallible.... http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100122/tuk-sp...ed-45dbed5.html
  2. Does anyone know whether SPECS cameras work in the dark? They don't have a flash, so I was wondering whether they could read the number plate behind the glare of the headlights.
  3. I thought I was kinda liberal - not believing in vigilante action or summary justice. Then I saw your pics... I was trying - and failing - to imagine how I would feel if it happened to me. This truly sucks, and I feel for you.
  4. Oops! Sorry. I did look before I posted - obviously not very well!
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIfYbqw3QCM...feature=related No doubt the man's got big ones! Love the expression on his face when he lands.
  6. It took me 2 hrs from Glasgow west end to Giffnock - my daughter took three hours from the city centre. She said "What is it - a bit of snow and people forget to drive?" And the thing is, I have no idea why it should jam up. On the main routes the grip was fine (and this in my 1.9D front wheel drive weedvan), visibility was ok - so what was the problem? Answers please on a postcard...
  7. Good game, good game... You can tell I haven't got Stum's photoshop skills!
  8. HUMANITY SAVED BY GLOBAL WARMING - SHOCK HORROR!!! Anyone see "Man on earth" last night? Apparently a global temperature rise of 5 degrees C in 100 years saved Homo Sapiens from extinction. OK, so it was around 150,000 years ago, but still... Be grateful for climate change.
  9. What? No section for wagons? How crap is Scottish Scoobies? (Sorry, couldn't resist...) Once upon a time mine was clean.
  10. Brilliant footwork, crazy spectators!
  11. Thanks Jimmy and pmac - job done! Steve.
  12. How good is this forum? Obscure question posted and an answer in 40 minutes! Thanks Jimmy - found the menu item. Will try it later on and let you know how I get on. Steve.
  13. Hi all Don't know if anyone can help with this, but it's worth a try. I'm currently setting up a new computer, but can't see how I can export my Firefox bookmarks from my old machine to the new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
  14. The M8. Had to go through to Edinburgh today for the first time in ages, and forgotten quite how much I loathe this road. Lane discipline - nil. Constantly tempted to use that empty piece of tarmac known as lane 1. Following distances - microscopic. How difficult is it to leave a decent gap to the vehicle in front? A horrible road - can you think of two major English cities 50 miles apart that don't have a three lane motorway link?
  15. Yeh and its not just that they won't overtake - they won't drop back from the vehicle in front and leave a gap for overtakers to use. You end up having to pass 2/3/4 vehicles at a time. And as you say when you do go for the overtake, you are treated like a loony.
  16. Brilliant thread. An excuse to be grumpy. (Not that I need an excuse.) People who pull up at night and leave their headlights on, particularly if they're on the nearside. Bus lanes. People who join the motorway, head for lane 2 and fall asleep. I'll agree with others about the 40 in a 60 limit - particularly when they then come to a 30 and continue at 40. Oh, and Simon Cowell.
  17. I was pleased he won the championship with a decent drive. Taking Grosjean round the outside was impressive.
  18. Can't remember the name of it but there's a good one on the A66 between Penrith and Scotch Corner. Their "small" breakfast is plenty enough for me - and cheap.
  19. As NKWRX says it's me - but I wasn't up that way on Saturday.
  20. I've played at Ultimate bet for a few years - put $50 on, got up to $800 at one point, but now down to $250! I play low limit cash games generally - just the very occasional tourney. Some good players on UB but a lot of fish who always outdraw you. Might try PKR - any introductory bonuses? I'd be up for a SIDC poker night!
  21. Utter hypocrisy. American soldier Lt William Calley was in charge of a platoon that killed up to 500 men women and children in My Lai in Vietnam. He stood trial in the US and was sentenced to life with hard labour. He was released after three and a half years house arrest.
  22. Thats bo11oks. My missus drives the scooby regularly - do you reckon I should tell her to keep the doors locked? What do you do?
