  1. Normally meet at the Harvester in Kidlington on the first Sunday of the month - not sure we've had a meet in Didcot before. Don't know the area, anywhere nice around there?

Terrible news mate... really feel for you! My mum has a place in Barnstaple so we're often down that way - beautiful roads down along the North Devon Coast!

Not on Sunday but he was keeping me up to date on Sat - best run was 11.8 IIRC and he was on track for 11.6 even 11.5 but there was some wet weather on Sat. Off anywhere nice in Devon?
  4. Time to get everyone all in the same spot for an afternoon them methinks! Meet anyone?

Awesome! Ended up taking the kids and they had a fantastic time watching the drifting, the jet car, monster trucks and motocross bikes. Did get a bit awkward when I had to explain why the woman on stage got her boobs out though! Pretty sure a scoob get best in class D (4WD / Rear Wheel Drive with Turbo, Nitrous and/or Supercharger) yesterday with 11.0.1 secs! Was fastest until 3:30ish when I left (was only a couple of runs left to go in the day) Chris, added your number into my phone wrong - tried calling but got some northern bird who I had woken up... she wasn't a happy bunny! Full weekend next year methinks!
  6. There's been a number of reasons to be honest - I've been overrun with work and busy with True Grip, new baby and the like. Iain has been similarly flat out. This has also been compounded by a number of events over the summer that have unfortunately clashed with our regular meets. That said, the last couple of meets I've attended have had little or no interest with the majority of members coming from other regions. I'm hoping to organise a run out later in the month if anyone fancies it?
  7. Absolutely stunning mate!

Iain's there now and I should be heading up on Sunday. You still got the same number?
  9. Very nice mate! Looks gorgeous in the flesh too! (Was behind you Hinksey Hill/Littlemore this evening about 6:15)
  10. Working on it! Clarkson only lives up the road so I 'popping in' to his local in the hope he's there and I can bend his ear! Didn't actually get into the museum itself as I was busy taking pics when everyone else was having their turn but if the cars in the workshops are anything to go by, then holy mother of God yes! Bit of drive for you guys though I would imagine! (Linkage)
  11. Southwest, Sideways article in the latest True Grip. Went down to the Haynes Motor Museum for a day in their RWD Imprezas. Was incredible fun!!!
  12. Not really fancy IIRC, some diff welding is involved as is the removal of the front drive shafts. Was told when I did the drift day for TG but I've kinda forgotten now. As a Sport owner, it's VERY tempting after driving their two Sports with RWD.
  13. I love the way my scoob handles and it's one of the main reasons I still have her. I must admit though, I am tempted by RWD but if I did, I would stick with a scoob!
  14. I know, wish she visited more often! Might get more done!
  15. No problem mate Wife's best friend is over from Ireland so I've been instructed to hide in the garage anyway!
  16. Yep, looks brilliant Col! Nicely done!
  17. Ooooh, I'm up for it too
  18. Not the April Issue - the membership versioning only kicked in from July.
  19. I'm assuming you're aware but just in case - you'll need more than the engine and ECU. You'll need the engine, exhaust, gearbox, clutch, diffs, driveshafts, suspension, brakes, ECU, wiring loom and just about everything else with the exception of the interior and shell! It's a colossal job and will be far cheaper to just buy and insure a turbo model - that said, if it's a project you're after, enjoy!
  20. Hi Aaron, You're more likely to get a much faster, more conclusive response if you pose the same question here: Technical Section If you also take a look at the last issue of the club magazine True Grip, there's a guide to diagnostics and fault codes. It can be found here: April True Grip Thanks, Stu
  21. Thanks mate! Pics were taken in the layby on the A40 by the motocross track - always been to scared to stop their after dark - is that where they go is it?!? Not been back to 'the other lane' since 'The Incident'!!!
  22. Fantastic! She looks excellent! Glad to have her (almost) back?
  23. I was planning to organise a b road blast for the main Sunday meet but to be honest, considering the turn out at meets of late, I decided against it. That's not to say we can't do something but if the only members attending regularly are from down your way, it seems to make more sense for us to come and visit you guys for once!
  24. Next on the list is a decent drop - the arch gap is shameful! Used Gloss It pads and the Werkstatt Acrylic Kit for the building up the layers after claying - finished up by hand because I didn't mask off the fiddly bits!
  25. Hello! Some of you may remember me posting up about local detailing a few months back and how I ended up just giving the car a good clean etc myself... Well, since then I've been practicing with one of my new toys - a dual action machine polisher and I'm really impressed with the finish! With that done, I really couldn't shake the fact that the wheels were letting the side down. This is how they looked: So I took to them with a wire brush, loads of wet & dry and took off the old (really badly applied) paint, filled the damage to the wheel lip, sanded it all back again and then gave them all a good coat of primer. Didn't get an pics of this stage but the effort made here really shows in the next pics... This is the first few layers of black that went down - it was meant to dry matt but I (intentionally) mixed in some lacquer on the last two coats for a satin finish. I had matt black on my last wheels and they were a bugger to keep clean! This is how they looked once touch dry: ...and once they we're fully dry and back on the car - a lot of the 'wet look' gone but still that shine Wasn't looking bad at all (bar needing some black wheel studs) but today I had the guys from www.alloygator.co.uk come down and fit some rim protectors: ...and now she looks like this! A massive improvement to what was one of the real let-down points of the car imho - really chuffed with how it's all turned out!
