  1. Should be this issue but depends on how much room the Classic HID install article takes - if not it'll be in the April issue. Find out tomorrow Group buy? You can get H1 kits sub £50 these days
  2. He works in a Hospital
  3. I had the PIAA bulbs - massive improvement but I've just fitted an 8000k HID kit and the difference if phenomenal! The blobeye headlights seem perfectly suited for them - loads of light and virtually no glare for oncoming cars. Much less than I've seen on factory fitted Xenon headlights I've wired them into the factory loom so that should there be any issue it takes less than 10 mins on the roadside to switch back to halogens... keep an eye out in TG for more on that though
  4. Bloody good cars are the diesels and even in the manual models, you're not up and down through the gears too much. Handling is comparative to the more standard petrol models (although a few choice mods would fix that easily enough!) Bags of torque too - give it a few years and I have a feeling they may end up being the weapon of choice over the 1/4
  5. I noticed t'other day that Myles has some rather tasty looking black headlights now so I'm sure he can be excused Matty though, can you really see him out of bed on a Sunday before 11 unless he's playing golf?!? Will see you there mate!
  6. Oh yes! Some of the cars on there too..!!!! Can't wait!
  7. Guys, Mark 30th January in your diary, as this date marks the start of the 2011 Pistonheads Sunday Service season as they head to the MINI plant in Oxford. They have capacity of 800 cars, making it the biggest Sunday Service yet! As it's so local, it would be a shame not to get along and check out some of the awesome motors on display! For those new to the SS format, it's a great opportunity to see 799 (yours will be the 800th) other PH cars, buy yourself some breakfast and have a good look over a few manufacturer-supplied cars too. At MINI you'll be able to see all of the current line-up along with a few models from the heritage collection - including some true Mini icons - all displayed undercover in what they call the 'T- Building'. **It's free to get in but you'll need to get your names in the list here** Be quick though, it's filling up fast! We'll be planning to get a bit of a Thames Valley mini-meet organised beforehand to convoy up to the plant along with members from Berkshire and surrounding areas. This is likely to consist of meeting at Sainsbury's Heyford Hill beforehand - I will confirm times before the weekend but it's looking like 08:30. Would be great for us all to catch up and what better excuse than this eh!
  8. Hi Terry, how are you mate? Yeah, like you say, been a while - still gagging for another Dartmoor run! You well?
  9. Welcome to SIDC - hope you get it sorted chap!
  10. Might even try and get over from oxon for that one. I've been promising them a visit for ages now! Welcome on board by the way!
  11. Oddly, a full wrap doesn't affect the insurance though?!? Always struck me as strange.
  12. With the charge coming out of those ballasts?!? Naah, too risky!
  13. I used to have that very model but in silver - oh the larks we used to have with that one... You can only imagine!
  14. Hi, Apologies that you haven't been contacted directly. There was an announcement made about shop orders and the like here: It doesn't say it specifically in that thread but because of the upheaval of moving the shop contents from Cornwall up to Scotland there's been some unavoidable delays. The Committee members responsible for the shop will be in touch shortly. Again, apologies for the delay.
  15. You know all these statistics about how many uninsured drivers there are on the road... that's mostly made up of people like you. Smart arses who think they know better and don't count! Have you ever had the joys of an insurance claim with an uninsured driver involved?!? I'm assuming from your statement that you haven't. I'll tell you now, THEY DO FIND OUT if your car is modified (and not just externally either).

    Greetings !

    Welcome to SIDC!
  17. Ooops!
  18. Honestly mate, I'm not sharp enough to think of such larks. Wish I had thought to genuinely do it - wouldn't have scared me so much either! In other news: I may have mentioned to the lighting guys that I edit TG... will have new bulb and ballast by the end of the day/by 10am tomorrow!
  19. Ah, yes... well, err... wasn't me guv'na ... honest!
  20. Will find out tomorrow I guess but thanks again for all your help mate - much appreciated! Good to catch
  21. Nope, mostly plug and play... unless you're bulb arrives DOA like mine! Doh!!!
  22. Yup
  23. Just to reiterate - get a gas check on the coolant before you flush it - for the time/cost it's better to be safe than sorry eh!
  24. Well if the head gaskets have been done then yeah, might be worth flushing the system, just run it through with a hose. I would get a gas check done on the existing coolant first though to be on the safe side. Check the thermostat in a cup of hot water as well, that may explain the overheating.
  25. From what I've read it's more about the spread of the beam pattern (glare) and the colour temperature. As mine are 8k and slightly blue I wanted to err on the side of caution Let me know if/when you want me to pop over mate - just heading over to Maplin so mine SHOULD be installed by early afternoon.
