To be honest matey, i was struggling to decide between an 05 GX and the 56 R and I'm glad I went for the GX. It's ever so slightly more pokey (on paper at least), looks better and a was a fair few grand cheaper too! I've 3yrs ncb, I'm 25 and pay £315 fully comp and that's protected ncb too so they're a LOT cheaper on insurance than a turbo Impreza. Obviously they're not as fast as an STi or WRX but around corners they'll outrun most cars on the road... I've shown up Porsche drivers through the lanes before now! Shhhhhhhhhh. As has been said, they're hugely underrated cars and definitely worth considering. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I'm due a major service soon (cam belt, brake pads etc) and although I've been quoted silly prices by some, I've had one quote for just over £350 so it's nowhere near as pricey as a WRX or STi for servicing either!

Hi guys, I'm going to have a major service due fairly soon and I've a few bits I need fitting too so I was wondering if there's anyone you could recommend in the Oxfordshire area that would be worth paying a visit to? ...failing that, a dealership would probably do for the servicing. I may well have to make the drive down from Oxford for that one, I used to spend most weekends up there in the summer when I was young tearing around on a bike... used to play rugby for Martock too! Quite a while ago now but it would be good to visit for an afternoon.

Hi guys, Just moved down here from staffs a month ago and just got my scoob back from being repaired (read: Violated and driven like stink around Banbury) after some plank hit her whilst stationery! She's an 05 GX so n/a but that's all the cost of insurance will allow for the time being! I don't know how often your meets are down here but before I moved I used to be a regular and the mids-scoobies meets and a few others on occasion so it'll be good to see what it's like down here! I've seen a few scoobs about in Witney so far... you guys don't like waving do you! (mostly old men commuting tbh) Anywho, hopefully see a few of you about at some point, I'm in and out of Oxford at least twice a day so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled! Cheers, stum450n
