  1. Right, it's only taken all night to sort out but I'll be along after all... We're signing everything at 11:30 so I'll have to meet you at the bowling alley rather than Sainsbury's but I'll be there with bells on! Iain, if you head down the A40 to Eynsham, and go over the toll bridge towards Botley via Farmoor. As you approach Botley take a left onto the A420. At the next roundabout, join the A34 Southern Bypass... left onto A4074 (Hinksey Hill and take the first left at the roundabout. Straight over the next and Sainsbury's is right in front of you! See you there!
  2. Hi guys, looks like this may be yet another meet I can't make. The woman who is witnessing the contract exchange for the new house didn't turn up today so it's looking likely to be tomorrow morning. It'll never leave us homeless but if it's not sorted this weekend, it'll mean a week in a hotel for us all... Sorry guys.
  3. Hi Andy, I wouldn't imagine mine will be coming, Sophia's too small and my wife's about to drop so I doubt she'll be there either. I'll confirm around lunchtime though. I thought it was that Sainsbury's just wasn't sure where the Kassam Stadium was, I drive past it every morning so I'm told! Iain, if you want to swing past mine on your way in, I can show you the way if you like... it's a nice blat through the lanes. 5p's at the ready folks!
  4. Guys, in the 'social' magazine they have at the counters in Sainsbury's, there a discount code for the alley in Oxford... would've mentioned it sooner but just now back from Manchester (trip got extended) I'm guessing the Sainbury's everyones meeting at is the one Heyford Hill direction?
  5. Thought I would say hello, I was passenger in the red mini behind you (and then behind the puma when that cut us up! ) Nice to see another scoob about those parts! Cheers, Stu
  6. Thanks for that emoe. The car's never going to be the fastest so it was as much about the induction noise as anything else. It's good to hear another side to the story though as I had always assumed that an almost universal method of increasing power regardless of aspiration type is to improve the directness and smoothness of the air intake tract. By removing and replacing intake resonators (which as I understand it, are designed to subdue the noise) with intake tubes/pipes, you improve throttle response - because a greater volume of air is able to be inducted into the throttle body quicker... Air in, air out. Increase the volume of air in, you get a bigger bang, which equals more power out. Based on what you're saying though, I think it may be a placebo affect what with the added noise, but the car feels a lot smoother and 'torquey' with the induction kit fitted. If it's only at the expense of the top end speed, I'm not too worried as I'm never all that likely to see those speeds on public roads. That said though, if it's potentially going to upset the balance with the engine management, I would rather play it safe and take it off. Whaddya think? (FYI, heat shield is now in place whilst I wait for the extra length of pipe to take it closer to the wing and cold air feed tube also in place) Cheers, Stu
  7. Thanks matey, can't seem to copy and paste on here with the phone (home network's down ready for the move!)
  8. get our names down matey, will need to sort a babysitter but worst case it'll just be me... Sounds just what the doctor ordered! Oh, and just to warn you, i cant bowl for beans!
  9. I was on the very top-right of the final 'E'... I still need a bigger picture to see the detail of that section. Right, decided to throw caution to the wind and ordered my print!
  10. Wooho! Here's hoping they don't sell out before I'm paid!!! Errrrrr, one a minute... that's 9 1/2 hours. Sold out by the end of the day by my reckoning!!! -_-

  17. :rotfl: noooooo, thats even worse than those electronic dump vaulves chavs slap on novas! Ive got myself a new induction kit and new zorst manifold... Full decat in the garage yet to fit but worried it may be just that bit too loud! Got a lot more burble and grunt now though, even without the decat!

  19. I guess that was you I passed on my way to the shops... about the time you would've been coming back from the meet?
  20. Fooking hell, a bad day's a bit of an understatement mate. :P Some w**ker wants stringing up by their bol**ks for that one... really gutted for you. Hopefully all you'll loose out on in the long run is the time it takes to get it sorted with your insurance.
  21. Thanks mate, all sorted now. It's now swiftly been relocated to the silcone hose that joins the induction kit to the inlet manifold... et voila! No orange light! I have a heat shield and cold air feed to add yet but I'm going to get an extra length of tube to take it that much closer to the wing for colder air. I've also got an and Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge that'll mean I can keep an eye on hows she's running with the induction kit. Cheers, Stu
  22. Hi guys, I have a2005 Impreza GX and I've fitted an induction kit to the car today. Sounds awesome but unfortunately, after following the instructions to the letter, I've now got a nice orange light on my dash!!! When the instructions failed to mention what to do with the electrical sensor coming from the air filter box, I rang the guy who I bought it off and he said that as most Impreza's don't have them, it can't be essential and to just leave it unplugged????? That didn't sound right to me but I started the car and she ticked over fine. It looks like this: and I'm guessing it needs to be plugged in? If it's not, what is it and does anyone have any idea where it should now be? I've taken the car out and she's running fine (seems to pull better in fact!) but if this is going to cause any damage to the car, I would rather set it all back to how it was. Thanks in advance, Stu
