  1. hi Finally got my apexi commander and controller. Front mount. Dump valve and 550 injectors for my 95 sti ra. I.ve got it booked in for andy f to map next tuesday and was wondering what cold air intake would be best. I like the look of the small carbon fibre induction vent or i could run a cold air pipe from my fog lamp cover. Will there be room behind my fog lamp cover once my front mount is fitted or will the pipework for the front mount be in the way. Anyone got any ideas on what would be best. Cheers steve
  2. they have got a new car out which is styled on the evo but it's a smaller car than the lancer. Although from the front it looks exactly like the evo as it's been designed by rallyart. I looked at it in the garage but can't remember the name of it Steve

  6. hi Recently bought a cold air intake pipe for my ra but i noticed last sunday at the falkirk wheel that a couple of cars had the bonnet air intake scoop. Which would be best the pipe or a scoop as i see davie at dr motorsport sells them so might buy one instead of using the pipe. Is there any pro's or con's Cheers steve
  7. Thanks for that Paul still trying to find out if i'd be better going straight for the 550cc injectors or buy 440cc until i get a 20G then buy some 550cc to run with the bigger turbo cheers steve
  8. Hi Just bought an apexi ecu and commander this week for my 95 sti type ra i'm looking to get this fitted and mapped for my engine mods. These include a full decat 3", RCM Fuel pump, NGK series 8 spark plugs, K&N Induction Kit. It currently runs a polar performance chip which the previous owner fitted to it and it is probably maxing out my top mount and my standard injectors as it's kicking out around 300BHP. I'd like to know if I fitted a front mount and maxxed out my td05 would i be better buying 440cc injectors or 550cc injectors. Eventually I'm looking to run a 20G where i'd need 550cc injectors anyway. Once the 20G is fitted i'd be looking to get the gearbox strengthened as i don't think it'd handle the power. How would you go about this while keeping the ra's gear ratio's. Hope this makes sense cheers steve

  15. is there a problem with my boost then when duncan dyno'd it he never said that there was anything wrong with it although he did say that the car must be manic to drive which it is . Hopefully i'll get andy f to map it soon once i get a front mount and bigger injectors Steve
  16. hi Headed up yesterday with my nephew who enjoyed himself although it was a bit windy. One of the reason's i headed up is that i'd be interested in putting my RA on the track at the next sidc track day. My RA is track ready but looking for some info on costs as i heard some people saying that you can hire tyre's and helmets. Also i'd be looking to take my nephew on the track to and was told as long as his seat belt fits him properly then it'd be ok there is a harness on the drivers side which i could move over to the passenger side to if that would be better Any info would be appreciated Thanks steve
  17. there was one of these polar performance chips on my car and i'd agree with the above statement that it's very aggressive. My RA boosts to 1.4 bar then drops to 0.95 bar and it's running just over the 300bhp mark. I had it dyno'd and the fuel mix is perfect. Althought i'd saving up for andy f to do a live map for the car. Cheers steve

  19. what are the good and bad points of a air induction scoop and what advantages is there over a cold air induction kit from the fog lamp cover seen the scoop for sale on dr motorsport so i'm thinking of getting one cheers steve
  20. Can certainly feel the difference between the 2 so it'll be v-power for me from now on, gave it a blast the other night and still the knock link stayed on the first green light where with the tesco 99 it used to jump up to the amber light occasionally.
  21. Hi When i got my ra it had a Power Builder Bee-R rev limiter fitted i have the instruction booklet but it's all in japanese and was wondering if anyone knew how to set these up. The previous owner had it set and i've never touched it. It has 3 buttons rev 1 , rev 2 and the other is Gain cheers steve

Hi I had something similar a couple of weeks ago, I left the house to go to cumbernauld and as i got onto the main st in plains i noticed a marked BMW traffic car overtaking traffic behind me so i moved over slightly as i thought they were going after someone. As he came in behind me i thought here comes the lights for a check i was sitting about 30 minding my own business so i carried on to cumbernauld with them sitting behind me and dropped my mum off at her nursery to pick up her car. As i done a u-turn to come back to airdrie they swung their car round and followed me all the way back to airdrie then disappeared as i stopped at the shop a couple of minutes from the house. That pasted a good 25 30 minutes cheers steve

Hi I've been using tesco 99 since i got my first impreza but since i got my type ra i've noticed that the knock link lights up the second green light or even the amber light for a split second when i'm pushing it on a bit. So a few weeks ago i started using shell v power and now the knock link doesn't move from the first green light even when it's getting thrashed. Is this just a coincidence or would there be a difference between the 2 fuels which would cause this?? cheers steve
