  1. facelift grill is different shape at end to meet flush with facelift lights. i take it your car is pre 96. 96-98 or 98-00 would suit but theres a slight change in design with botton lip protruding more on later cars.

i think acid was running his old green car with facelift grill and non facelift bonnet but i canny mind right. may have been other way about. send him a pm and see if it fitted alright.

Yip its a 95, thanks for your help will give acid a pm and ask him

    Cheers

  2. I find that because i drive a wagon, some seem to think its not a scooby so turn away and don't wave back...I always try to wave altho sometimes a bit late in spotting them :o

We need some sort of recognition(I still have my Mcrae Gathering sticker on the bonnet lol)

  3. i would try removing other bolt holding spot on, if it snaps too all the better. behind the platic where the fog sits there is a very thin metal square which has nuts welded to it. it will probably be rusty. once all bolts are out it should lift up a bit and then fall off.

you could then get a second hand one or use just normal nuts/bolts with some large penny washers. i got new ones cause im a fussy git. dab of copper grease on reassembly to prevent it happening again.

I have managed to get the spot off only 2 bolts sheared the one for the indicator and the one below it the other 2 were a bit rusty but eventually got them!! Think thats what was wrong as tried to turn the nuts at the back then realised they were welded on  will have a look tomorrow to see if I can remove the thin metal square.....thanks for that :)

  4. Well have fitted the lights today ........nearly!!!! :) the last bl@@dy bolt to remove on the indicator sheared in half!!!!! Then when i tried to remove the spot to get better access one of them sheared off too  But never mind i am well proud of myself for fitting them :) PS any ideas how to get the remaining part of the bolt out? Can i drill it out or will that wreck the thread for new ones

    Thanks

  5. Hi all have just bought new headlights, side lights and front indicators for my classic ...are they quite easy to fit ie spanner, screwdriver etc (or should I say will I manage myself :rotfl: )

    Cheers

  6. hope you get it back mate my gb270 got stole nearly 2 weeks agow now am guted got told by the police to stop phoning to see if they have found it they said i was waisting my time phoning they would get in touch if they found it a dont fink i am waisting my time a***holes that they are.

Dont give up phoning! I had my Landrover Freelander stolen a few years back and after a month the police phoned me to say it was parked over someone's driveway and if i didnt move it they would have it lifted!! So they don't always keep us in touch :icon_salut: This is getting scary with the reports of stolen scoobies ;) Lets hope they turn up safe and sound

  7. Bad move

Once you see the other members cars you will be pricing up kidney sales and seeing how much the local optician will give you for one of your eyeballs

    Welcome and enjoy your stay

Hi :icon_salut: Yip thats so true lol I have just splashed out on new lights too

  8. I am afraid the MAF will only show as a fault when it is dead, my one hickuped the other day and left no code then a day later the MAF went which left a code, lucky I had a spare with me though. There are so many causes of hesitation on the scoob it can be quite hard to diagnose them over the forum.

    Cheers Iain

    Thanks for that :D

  9. No boost gauge fitted and thought it maybe the maf on its way out although this is the first time i have noticed it struggling a bit...would the maf failing not show up as a fault? Its a my96 import :D

  10. Car was chugging a bit today but no cel light on, so checked for any codes and code 13 is what flashed on the dash.. recently had one fitted so is this just stored as a fault and needing cleared? and will temporarily disconnecting the battery help??

    Thanks in advance :D

  11. Well so far I have nearly removed one side..( it is well stuck on!!!! )....with wd40 and heat, just bought sticky stuff remover to try tomorrow and will let you know how that goes (also bought a packet of wine gums, will try and keep one :D) and the new ones come tomorrow too ;)

  12. Hi :D just removed my wind deflectors and there is double sided tape stuck on the car where they have been...any ideas how to remove it...have tried using heat gun but wary of maybe damaging the paintwork (and its burning my fingers lol)

    Thanks
