Think I am now on a self impossed internet drinking ban thats just one dumb comment too many Not that I stick too anything.I swore to my pals the car was more than fast enough when I bought it and I would never Mod Story so far V3 TypeR (280bhp), Full Decat, K&N, PFR7B Plugs, Apexi FC+ Commander. Dont know about the BHP or Torque figures, He didnt tell me, I would be guessing at 310-330bhp. Should be enough (for now) Fancy some whiteline goodies next

Hi All Went to see Andy Forrest on Friday to have my new ECU fitted and the car mapped. Was a bit nervous as the car is new to me and I had got the Apexi ECU for a too good to be true price on E-bay with cash on collection. But things went fine he had it fitted in no time, followed by 15 mins of Laptop Black Magic then we hit the road. Apologies to anyone who was held up in the area when out on the road, certainly got some strange looks. What can I say? It feels like a new car, well not quite but its certainly a lot faster. I no longer have to rev the engine as hard for maximum pace, it feels like it has a lot more torque. Hoping for a second less on the quarter mile (maybe a bit optimistic?) Where Im noticing the biggest difference is cruising on the motorway and traveling slowly. Where as before it was a complete pain in the @rse its now almost smooth. Would never have known about these things were it not for the site, so many of these type of sites seem to be full of people looking to knock newbies. But not here. I fancy it would have cost me a lot more to get the car this good, so thanks all for advice on various things. Cheers Mikey

Speak to Cusco Kid he really knows his stuff. Just one look at this guys driveway and you know hes seriously into his subarus. Gave me impartial advice on my new car on how to tune my car for the track without making it too uncomfortable on the road. I did of course completely ignore him and buy more power, thats what I get for being persuaded to go to Crail. Oh and and he was also right, some brakes did help a lot. Hopefully some Whiteline goodies next for me, then some Brave pills, then Knockhill

We did think about trying to modify it but thought better off it as it would have involved cutting wires then sticking them in the fuel tank.(massive simplification) Ordered the 342 will have a look at the two off them and see which one fits best. In a rush though cause its off to Andy Forrest on Friday

I am trying to change my fuel pump to a walbro, the one ive been sent by idigo-gt appear to have no point to attach what looks like an earth wire. The connections also apear slightly different The pump is part code GSS341 and the thread on scooby mods shows a GSS342 The car is a 97type r, the website did say for all Subaru except P1s but the pump thats on it at the moment appears much larger

Think I might be needing similer advice soon. Anyone?

Alright mate im in Livingston. Just got mine a couple of months ago and am loving it. Ive got a Black 3 door, RIOT plate. Give us a flash or more (Vroom vroom) if the roads are quite. lol Ive been looking at the meet section for a while now but there seems to be some politics going on in the Lothian Scoobies. Planning on doing a Service on the Subaru. Looking for advice as to which oil to use. It is a slightly (at the moment) modified 97TypeR, 36000 miles and low but spirited annual mileage. Lots of people seem to be recommending Millers 10/40 in the threads but to be honest Ive never heard of it. Before I had the Subaru I always used Mobil One believing it to be the best?. Any opinions? Where in the Lothians can you buy Millers?
