Hi Craig, I must admit to having something a wee bit more extreme on the car just now - Hankook soft slicks!!! You think Toyo R888's are wrong for this time of the year - they will be like snow tyres compared to the Hankooks!!! Cheers Gary
-
Hi All, Looking for new tyres for the Scoob, want something that gives a good bit grip and have been quoted £138 each including VAT for Toyo 225/40/18 R888's - what do you reckon for the tyre and the price? Cheers Gary
-
The reason it uses more fuel is that the fuel is pushed through quicker on anti lag systems and any unused fuel is chucked out the the exhaust usually in the form of flames - not burned off in the engine where it would normally produce bhp and torque. The way I look at it is if you worry about the odd MPG - you're in the wrong car!!!! Cheers Gary
-
The anti lag systems do put a massive amount of pressure on the Turbo's and stress the engine and exhausts, my rally car had it and it did make a huge difference to the performance of the car in a stage. Not sure the pops and bangs are anything near the severity of the anti lag system from GEMS. Maybe Andy F will advise me before I get him to do mine - but I would say it's a sure fire thing he will be fettling my ECU to engage a few noises. Cheers Gary

Very moist now Grant - cannae wait!!! Cheers Gary

OMG My wife is gonna kill me - just e-mailed Andy F for a price and date of when he can do mine, WRC spoiler getting fitted next week, pops and bangs - whatever next??? Only been married 4 weeks tomorrow - so glad she loves driving too!!! Not sure enough to buy the merits of this investment though!!!
-
Hi All, I presume Andy F would do it, any ideas of the costs involved??? Cheers Gary
-

Hi Hohn, You're up early this morning fella!!! Glad to see there is no more snow this morning in the Borders - Carfraemill is clear for anyone coming over the A68, (Soutra Hill) had visions of the snow gates being closed and the party being spoiled!!! See ya all in sunny Peebles the back of 9. Cheers Gary

Looks like its gonna be a good day with at least 22 cars joining in the event, I am still in Hong Kong but get a flight tomorrow morning at 8am so I will be back in good time for the Peebles meet at 9:15am. I ordered a WRC spoiler for the car a couple of weeks ago and it should be waiting for me when I get home, it's not painted yet so it won't be on the car - unless I can work some magic and get it sprayed on Friday!!! But this may be cutting it a tad fine. Looking forward to seeing you all bright and breezy on Saturday morning. Gary & The Trouble and Strife

Hi John, Sounds good to me fella, a rare day out in the Sunny Scottish Borders, around the roads that a certain other World Champion used to hurtle his Lotus Cortina around - James Clark of course!!! If the other regions want to come and join us it would be great, some superb roads around the Borders that we make the most of. Note to self - this will not be The Jim Clark - speed limits apply!!!!!! Hope the numbers are high and the crack is good. Cheers Gary

I would agree apart fromt he back door not being the same colour as the frint fella!!!

Dirty Gally!!!!! Better us the security before I come over to them rough parts - whit, whit, whit, tally ho!!! -
I sold the rally car this morning to a guy who wanted back into the sport, didn't get anywhere near what I thought it was worth - but then as everyone says - who does these days!!! The baby is getting picked up at the weekend and I will be saying goodbye to 6 years of happy, fun and expensive motoring - the guy has got a bargain in my mind. Hope he enjoys hammering the car as much as I did. Down to only the one STi now - boo hoo - poor me!!!!

Carfraemill these days fella, just ootside Lauder!!! Sold up in Duns a few years ago and moved to the big smoke in Edinburgh. Sold up there around 9 months ago and cashed in the hoose chips just at the right time, bought a kinda large gaff that Jen and I are making the most of just now - the garage was just big enough to fit both Scooby's in - big selling point in my humble opinion!!! There may be Scooby Doo rustlers around these parts - and yee cannae be too careful with that kind of cargo parked under the stars!!! Cheers Gary -

Good luck John, hope everything runs well for you. Now all you need to do is get the 1st meet sorted, I know a nice hotel next to my gaff with a decent car park - The Lodge at Carfraemill, Lauder. -
http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/747372.htm Could hardly believe my eyes when I seen this pristine example of an 07 plate on pistonheads - whats the world coming to when you can get a car like this for under £13k. Think I will take mine off the market and wrap it up in cotton wool so it doesn't feel a lesser mortal. I will keep telling it that is loved by me - it's only the rule makers doesn't like our babies!!!!! Boo hoo - gonna go and pour my heart and blubber for a while!!! On the other hand I didn't wanna sell her anyway and it just gives me an excuse not to sell Happy Days are back again!!!!
-
Very nice indeed Mr Paul, the car sure is mint, what have you done under the bonnet? Is it just as impressive as the looks?
-
All I can say is - wow!!!! That has to be the best looking classic I have seen in ages, from top to bottom you have it perfect - apart from the sunstrip, not really sure about it myself, jury's out on that one. Anything else you gonna do to it Paul? I have a 04 STI Type UK after being a classic STi owner for years - maybe it's time to turn back the clock and have a stunner like that in the garage to play with at the weekend????? Oh how the other half would kick my ass!!! Cheers Gary
