  1. Ahem!!!!!!! Where do i start Abington to Mennock in 12 mins in damp conditions with a 200kg pallet right at the back door Beat that Sabine!!!!!!! Wilky, you really must sit in with me on a days work.. I canny drive a Scooby like a loon cause i drive a Merc Sprinter 99.9% of the time and it takes a wee while to get used to superior grip level of a Scoob. Mark my words i could cover a section of B Road in a Sprinter quicker than most people could do it in thier Scoob. Another point would be that i pay for the tyres, insurance, petrol, etc and pay hee haw for the works van. That Sabine lass, i wouldnae kick her out of bed for farting Grant
  2. Like the guy with Type R sticker on a 4 door at Crail who swore blind that his was a Limited Production run of 50 cars that were badged Type R and had 4 doors The production run was in effect only one car and it was all in his head Grant
  3. Does make me chuckle when i see a Corsa with HKS, Apexi, etc all down the doors Did not know the Corsa was that big in the Japanese aftermarket scene to merit HKS and the like making parts for them Being unique would be sticking a set of alloys on the car that no one else has got or likely to get or sticking a turbo on the car that no one else has. what would you do next? neons the flash to the beat of the bass lambo doors flamer kit 1000000000000000w sound system electric supercharger to help low down torque can of butane in the exh to help project the flamer kit Slippery slope my friend!!!!!!!! as has been said it is your choice as its your car Grant
  4. << Nice pics, whats with the extra scoop on the bonnet? >> it is for the front mounted intercooler and radiator Grant
  5. The 600hp Mk2 is indeed Mucking Fental Lap 1 .....Black Flag Lap 2 .....Black Flag Lap 3 .....Tried to sneak past behind the Beemer but was snarled Stern word of warning The way it hammered down the back straight was awesome The Audi saloon thought he had him but he still pulled away on the back straight snaking the back end re the clicky one with the guy drifting That guy obviously has issues and was sexually abused by a Toyota Corrolla as a young boy as he is giving that thing some amount of punishment Grant
  6. That is indeed correct i knew that the Sport shared the Cashmere colour with a fine import model. Version 6 STI and not the Version 3, sorry i got the model wrong but the concept was there The Version 3 shade is Sunflower Yellow and was the only model to feature that shade Yes i am that anal when you two are out there having a laugh trying to jump on any indiscretions i may make!!!!!! Grant
  7. Screamer pipe is the narrower guage pipe than runs under the main exhaust pipe from the external wastegate That would be one loud exhaust at full pelt, similar to the side exit i used to have but way more stylish then mine Grant
  8. Plenum chamber is the two big silver boxes either side of the engine and the charge cooler is the silver one in the middle Will explain better tomorrow if required as i need to hit the hay for work tomorrow Grant
  9. Defo done in a drag stylee No intercooler as such but a massive Charge cooler similer to the one used on the Focus RS and old Legacy See the exh pipe, external wastegate and the dual plenum chambers, very tasty indeed Very functional interior with a guage for everything Grant
  10. i have no doubt that Greers will see you alright Just that i know a few tricks that help thses early cars work a bit healthier Grant
  11. If Greers cant help you then give me a shout and i will try a few things before you spend any money PM after you get it back from the garage if you get no joy there Grant
  12. each sensor has its own code the code that flashed up is 24 and that is the code for the idle air control solenoid if the CEL is permanantly lit then the fault is currently active if the code flashes up when the black connectors under the dash are connected then the fault is historical reset the ECU and if the CEL flashes steadily after a short 50 yard drive then the fault is not currently active reset the ECU and if it takes forever and a day for the CEL to illuminate then the fault is currently active the ecu in the Subaru is a clever bit of kit in the self protection dept. if the ECU detects that a sensors output has fallen outwith a certain perameter then it will try to compensate using another sensor. If that fails then it will retard the igntiion, richen up the mixture, lower the boost pressure and if it thinks it still cannot opertate safely then it will go into Limp Home Mode and keep the CEL permantly on until the faulty component is fixed or replaced. is this clear enough or am i making it worse Grant Looking out for a laser dot on the wall
  13. << Does it hurt knowing that much Grant? >> Yes it does hurt, no honostly it does Apparently i seep Subaru fluid out of my earlugs during nocturnal hours Grant
  14. 3 guys from local kebab shop build a quick Scoob Do not know if it beats AndyF but it must be close Grant
  15. Another awesome find there Big chap Saved to the hard drive instantly for further viewing Good to see all the old favs there and enjoyed the Tarmac spec Audi and a brief fleeting glimpse of a Citreon BX Also loved the Murphy vid round the mountain, spitting flames from a NA engine requires a healthy state of tune and to top it off Walter driving like a loon Grant
  16. truly a milestone worth marking Grant
  17. If it showing a code 24 then it wont be the maf, lambda or flux capacitor, it will be the idle air control solenoid, funnily enough The super smart diagnostic system has detected that the output of the idle air control solenoid has fallen outwith perameters enough for the ECU to trigger a fault code 24 Is the CEL on all the time, if this is the case then the fault is current and the component will need changed over asap. If the CEL is not on when driving then the fault has been logged as historical Reset the ECU and if the CEL flashes steadily within say 50yds of driving then the component neads a good clean out in the coolant feed area. If the CEL takes a couple of miles to illuminate then the component is guffed and will need replaced If there were multiple codes at the same time then you diagnose and repair the lowest code first and this can in turn deactivate the higher codes but Steve has only mentioned a single code 24 Grant
  18. << How many days till the Monte Grant? >> End of Jan i believe Always a good curtain opener with Slicks and Snow Watch how the real Stig effortlessly steers the car with his throttle!!!!!! Grant
  19. Are you wanting the thin one that goes from the manifold nipple to the DV or the large bore one that returns to inlet? Former, Ebay would be best bet and latter woould be dealer for it Grant
  20. More from the famous road Watch out for McRae coming through sideways in the background and spinning it at the exit Grant
  21. Stig and a S1 in the snow Grant
  22. Nice mate Might see it on thurs at meet if not it will be a pleasure to follow it in Eire Grant
  23. Well the only 2 classics that come in Cashmere Yellow are the Sport released in 2000 or the Version 3 Type R and out of they 2 i was never gonna suggest the Sport, calm down Ruby it is just a thread, as a possible car for you I would be jealous as hell if Imy got a Version 3 as i am on a lowly Version 2 Grant
  24. Sorry mate but i have promised that if Imy does get a Yellow Type R then it is to remain std The Version 3 Type R is a mighty fine car as std and wont need no tinkering Grant
  25. Simple my Oriental friend ECUTEK is a reflash of the std ECU with new s****y perameters but can only contain 1 map to read from. GEMS on the other hand can contain 2 maps and the switch on the dash interchanges between the "Road" map and the "Stage" map. So both have thier pluses and minuses When i say map, i mean the reference table the ECU looks at to determine ign timing and injector timing Will discuss further over Cheesecake on Sat night. Grant
