  1. Come on AndyDatsun, where were you all this Peruvian tea towel roding was going on.

Callum, forgive if i have got this wrong, was it not yourself that said "last one with the goat is the faither"

Chris, there is a phone call from Admiral Nelson, think he wants you to sook his rocketship or something like that.

  2. AFAIK that particular car was fitted with a bigger turbo and bigger brakes over standard to get that 8:55 time ;)

It had the guts of the STI Carbon (JDM Hatch equivilent of a JDM Hawk Spec C) and brakes from the Hawkeye RA-R. Tommi's own companydone the geometry set up specifically for the run/runs and for the driver/pax combo

Still 100% JDM Impreza with some Finnish fettling from a man who knows how to drive fast

PS, thanks Gumball you rodder of rods, i still have my Makinen SWRT jacket complete with pin hole burns.

  3. ooooooooooh splumph - nuff said...

Pretty much what i said on the Fri when we were setting up the stand when Campbell said move that Impreza before someone hits it with a truck, it was parked next to the Hankook van in the middle of a passageway. Never had a camera for that piece of joyful manouvering but the next morning when we pulled open the easy up and he asked me to put the Impreza out i pretty much went ooooooooooh splumph, grabbed my camera and handed it to one of the helpers for the day and said point this camera at that car as i am about to do something i never thought i would do in a million years. After that i had to unload the Grp A Cosworth off the trailer and onto the stand, again it was ooooohh splumph. Dog leg first with one fierce mother of a clutch was not easy to do slow mavouvering but i got it to the stand only stalling it just the 3 times. Think the grin across my face was only beaten by Imys after she got out the Grp A 400hp RWD Cosworth after a lap of the circuit.

Think i will sell the Banana now as life can not get better after driving BAT

650hp at 2.4bar, not bad for 1986 ( No mention of torque on the spec sheet )

Of all the cars at Rallyday, and there were some special cars indeed this was my favourite by a long shot.

  5. Bottom green is not 65% as stated it is more like the rear diff is not connected to the front diff when slippage of the rear wheels has occured.

The further up the dial you wind the meter the more the front and rear diffs lock together on a percentage basis unitl you hit the top light then what ever the rear wheels turn at speed wise the front wheels will match that speed exactly as the 2 diffs are now fully 100% locked together. Bottom light on the dial means there is no engagement between the diffs, that would be 0% through to top notch on dial indicating both front and rear diffs are now locked together 100%

Best rule of thumb is the slippier the potential conditons wind the dial fwd one notch to a max of halfway for b road driving to 3/4 on Motorways/A roads

The DCCD is basically electro magntic plates that are controled by how much electricity is fed to them, one of Subarus better designed products that has stood the test of time nicely. So simple yet so strong, effective and in the right hands an excellent driver aid for getting the best from the car

  6. I actually thought for a while it was Sabine Schmidt! That mental German burd that took the Transit around the ring on Top Gear.

Try doing it with a LWB Sprinter with retail unit on the back

9min 44secs and the video cilp to prove it*

*All this is complete s**** and we were nowhere near the Ring in any Mercedes Sprinter LWB

Ben could drive a car well enough to put a good few F1 drivers to shame so his replacement has to be up to same grade

DC aint doing much these days so gets my vote even if it is for Pink Stig with Boobies

  7. WHAT! - why ddn't you tell me Grant................ I'd have moved my tent all the way over from Steve Darley's place ( he hid his sheep from me and Duncan)

Good thinking on Pauls part me thnks, the sheep that sent me of to dreamland were probably glad to be outside the Paul enforced exclusion zone. A zone he set up following animal welfare control advice on what to do when Aberdonians come below hadrians wall

    :)

  8. Team result was not the best we have had but the team spirit was there along with Bravehearts attitude of "if i dont break it i aint trying hard enough" so a good result for the weekend in general

Peters car looked like it would have been quick if it had kept all 4 tyres in contact with the ground, went round the handling circuit like a greyhound on PCP with a bladder problem, cocking a leg at every bend/oppertunity. On the strip, well 10.9 is a damn good result for a full fat lard ass Newage with a nutter behind the wheel, so job done there then.

Found a cracking place to camp round the corner from the previous years pitch, really quiet (apart from some sheep), security camera for the car and bushes to hide the car behind/piss behind so the result was a sleep from 12 till the back of 7, result

    Chris, your a nutter

Johnny, thanks for the video, i will keep it in the glovebox of the car for the next time someone says, "have i not seen that car before"

Special thanks to MikeyB for the trip down memory lane, your a bad man but in a good way

    Till next year then
