  2. wow! action packed month ahead as usual then!! will take a swing by tomorrow if im in the area, is it quite easy to find?

Crossford is about the size of a packet of Wotsits and the Clyde Valley Park with its ickle railway is the only thing in it. Coming from Lanark, enter the village and turn right over the single track bridge then right after the bridge into the park. The noisy Legacy is coming along for the day as well just hope the weather holds up

  3. Busy people!!

When is Goodwood Imy, I've wanted to go for a while now :)

    1st, 2nd and 3rd of July

    It really is petrolhead nirvana

Everying internal combustion powered from The Wacky Racers to F1 machinary from a bygone era is not only on show but put through thier paces up the hill. The rally paddock has every notable rally car ever made from Hopkirks old Mini to Grp B S4's to fire breathing Quattros that Mr Rohrl used to peddle up the Col d Turini

Even if i was not helping out i would certainly be making this an annual pilgramage, it is that good

  4. Statistically the first 3 years of any charities existance is the toughest. I am pretty sure no one on here wants the Colin McRae Vision to be one of the charities that fail within that period. The money raised goes directly to causes around the world relating to children. Examples of donations inc a kitted out ambulance for Yorkhill, an X-Ray unit in Argentina, a Forester Paramedic response vehicle for Fife region, a substantial donation to a childrens charity in Czech Republic and many others.

The Ayrton Senna foundation started off by selling t-shrts at kart tracks around Rio and is now a global charity that has been going since Ayrton's untimely demise.

Imy and myself do this to help the charity get to a point where it can carry on into future growing stonger and stronger, personally i will carry on till my health dictates otherwise. We receive no payment for attending these shows and even sometimes pay our own way as every little bit helps.

What we need is likeminded fans to help us achieve what we all want and that is for Colins legacy to live on and to benefit children around the world as well as local causes

One thing that would help enourmously is to join the Flat Out club. The benefits from joining are worth the joining fee alone and if you raise money for charity benefits get better and ranging from a unique club clothing, a limited print of Colin in his Subaru or Focus by Fran Healy to the top benefit of a run in one of Colins many cars the charity have at its disposal

For information on what events the charities retail unit will be at and if we will be bringing any cars along will be posted here by either Imy or myself. Any other information about future plans will be posted on colinmcrae.com

Next event is the Borders rally down in Jedburgh.

    If In Doubt.............Flat Out

I just need to watch these videos amongst others to remond myself why i carry on helping the charity establish itself

    Yours very sincerly

  5. Doing some hole drilling in the bootlid will help

You dont need a heating system so bin the matrix and all the channeling behind the dash, come to think of it bin the dash as well and mount the clocks on there own

Decent set of Rays/Volks/Advans will half your wheel weight, removing the calipers and discs will save a few pounds and replace it with a parachute mounted on the rear, illegal everywhere in Scotland except The Gow

Using clingfilm instead of glass will reduce weight dramatically as well but works only if you have Glaucoma .

Having a gene deformity that wastes your muscles away also help, but a tad extreme and painful

Removing the sound deading aint that hard if you use a fire extinguisher to cool before chiselling it off

Fit a 30 litre fuel tank, a litre of fuel is 1 kilo so the less in the tank the less it has to carry plus all the best driving roads in Scotland, apart from Applecross, are within range of base

    Here to help (and amuse)

  6. 3 different types of V2 use the Limited tag

1, WRX V-Limited, non STI about 260bhp and comes in rally blue

2, WRX STI Limited, about 276bhp, comes in Rally Blue and has roof vent

3, WRX STI RA V-Limited, about 276bhp, comes in Rally Blue, has roof vent, DCCD (Driver Controlled Centre Differential), Colin McRae signature on the drivers seat and Derek Ringers on the Passenger seat, Fifth fuel injector right on top of the manifold and it also has very short gearing.

If they try and tell you its an RA version and it does not have a rotary dial to control the DCCD near the handbrake switch then its a STI Limited

If it does not have a roof vent then its a WRX version

    Hope this helps

  7. 2010, what a bit of a strange year. Started off well with a glorious shindig round the north of Scotland enjoying motoring the way it was always intended

Enjoyed a jaunt down to Prodrive for a rather noisy P1 Gahthering

Came in my pants at the offer of a pax run in the McRae R4 Prototype with 5 times British Champion James McRae Esq

Enjoyed a run across Europe at 50 mph with my trusty co-pilot to the Czech Republic for the McRae Vision Charity, seen some weird driving sights i will never forget

Then it went a bit downhill, the dicky shoulder i had turned out to be a form of Musculer Dystrophy and while looking for that they found half of my left lung missing and something wrong with my heart that they want a closer look at. Stopped working 6 months ago, not through choice but the ****er at work became a bit too much of a ****er to handle so i walked. Due to this, some may say foolish but some may say brave manouvere i have had to make a few sensible decisions, i know the word sensible and me dont really go together but in this case it really was a no brainer. The hardest was having to sell the Banana, good chance the DVLA might want my licence back so having a silly hp car aint the best idea at the moment, luckily thier is another bonkers man out there that has agreed to purchase said lunatic mobile, that helps a lot as it takes a fair weight off my already aching shoulders. Feck all they can do except try (and fail miserably) control the pain, monitor its progress and possibly an operation to fix my heart, rejig my lung, i suggested an AndyF remap they looked at me strangley. Wish they just said that i had a fecked shoulder and get on with it but no they think some electrocution and MRI, ECG CT Bollocks will do it

Taking my mind off the shat news i carried on with the Vision stuff

Doddled down to Goodwood, Chatsworth and Rallyday at Castle Coombe to see some of the finest automotive macjines made by the human hand, also took the Vision unit to Eire which was nice as especially Colin was along for the ride

    erm395.jpg

Castle Coombe produced a very special present indeed

    n95ams440.jpg

    n95ams435.jpg

    n95ams436.jpg

Since the last of the shows in Eire finished i have been bored rigid going from one specialist to the other, hammering the ass out of GT5 but even that hurts bad after a while. Done a bit of travelling in Europe, why not feck all else to do

Imy has been my rock and thier for me when things are shit and gets me going when frankly i cant be arsed, she has shown me the true definition of love

Been about here in some form or another for abour 9 years, through the Dougster, seen more Glasgow RO's than unmodified Subarus kicking about, organised a small event a couple of years back that went not to bad, met some right arseholes but also some people i would regard as lifelong friends, also a special mention to the one they call the Owner or Bute, Sir Wilky of Wilkinson, sir i salute you and your bretheren and his his handsome sidekick the one they call Mark Webber, goes by the pseudonym of Andyjdmsti

I have no idea what the future holds, i try and not worry about it but its fecking hard when everything you thought was safe as houses changes in the blink of an eye

As another good friend once said

    Thanks for the fish

Not looking for any sunshine blown up my ass so feel free to lock it when you see fit Mr Moderator

  8. Had the steering jam on me going round a roundabout yesterday afternoon.

Ice had built up in the wheel arch cavity and prevented the wheel coming back to the straight ahead position. Used the jack handle to clear it and carry on but it had compacted so much it was like breaking concrete with a plastic teaspoon. Noticed the coil rings on the struts had frozen solid as well.

Morale of the story, give the wheel arch area a good checking over prior to heading out into the arctic weather
