  2. I have received an apology from the person involved who was man enough to PM me to put his side of event.

Bit of a misunderstanding that went the wrong way at the wrong time and ended with a wrong assumption

These things happen, we learn, we move on and we become stronger

  3. Kim, its not normal at any show i have attended North or South or even West of the border and was the worst experience of visiting any Subaru stand across the UK and that is what annoyed me the most, apart from those f'ing Evo drivers warming thier gaylord cars at 0645am, that the National club treated someone like that. If i had have been a "newbie" then i would have would have been even more annoyed and trotted of elsewhere to one of the many other Subaru clubs there. At every one of them i was made to feel welcome and people that did not know me from Adam approached me to chat about thier pride and joy. I even joined one from round about Dartford way as they treated me as if they wanted us to talk about thier cars and club, not growl at me like a pitbull with an elastic band around its balls.

Matty, we were just on the other side of the Pro R stand next to the building where the drivers were signing on, we had the retail unit, Merc van all branded with the McRae Vison logo and we had the Grp A Gemani Ford Sierra Cosworth that Jimmy, Colin and Alistair all competed in, with Jimmy doing passenger laps (with a few impromptu donuts thrown in to please the crowd as the McRae family like to do) and the Pirelli simlator with a replica of L555BAT in it. Even though we have funny accents we dont bite but for the life of me i could not work out why no one from the SIDC came over to say hi, even last year when we ha L555BAT down with us not a single person came over to see her. Hard one to explain that when my friends from the charity ask why no one from my own club have come over but after the pitbull experience and as mentioned before i dont want to any part of this club and please remove my Member logo asap.

Even though i dont own a Subaru anymore due to my ongoing health issues, i still love them to bits and have made some lifelong friends through the community. This is my first post on any part of the forum since Jan as even sitting here rattling a keyboard brings the pain, my other half, Imy updates all the material connected with the Colin McRae Vision charity, like where we will be and what car we are bringing to what show, in the Scottish section of the BBS. There is also colinmcrae.com, where all the latest event news is listed. Next outing is IRC Rally of Scotland where Jimmy will be driving the 92 Legacy as course, there is a competition on the McRae homepage offering the chance to win a ride with Jimmy through the shakedown stage on the Thurs prior to the event. I have sat in with Jimmy on numurous occasions and believe me he still knows has to make a car go sideways very very quickly

  4. I spotted the SIDC lineup of cars when i was wandering about looking for something else. Approached a tall bald guy in the gazebo to ask how do i join the club (jokingly of course but i was merely trying to open a converstaion about the show/club/Subarus) and he grumbled online or over there. I stuck out my hand to shake his to introduce myself and he point blank refused to shake my hand and getting blood out of a stone would have been easier than talking to this ignorant and obnoxious lump of wood.

If i was not representing the charity (thanks for coming over to say hi for the 2nd year in a row, erm Not) then things would have went down a different unpleasant path as i dont like being treated in that kind of manner.

Litchfield car was the car of stand for me but after speaking to the lump of wood in the gazebo you can shove your membership up your backside.

Disgraceful way for a long established National club to attract any newbies let alone ones that have been around for more moons than i care to count

  5. wow! action packed month ahead as usual then!! will take a swing by tomorrow if im in the area, is it quite easy to find?

Crossford is about the size of a packet of Wotsits and the Clyde Valley Park with its ickle railway is the only thing in it. Coming from Lanark, enter the village and turn right over the single track bridge then right after the bridge into the park. The noisy Legacy is coming along for the day as well just hope the weather holds up

  6. Busy people!!

When is Goodwood Imy, I've wanted to go for a while now :)

    1st, 2nd and 3rd of July

    It really is petrolhead nirvana

Everying internal combustion powered from The Wacky Racers to F1 machinary from a bygone era is not only on show but put through thier paces up the hill. The rally paddock has every notable rally car ever made from Hopkirks old Mini to Grp B S4's to fire breathing Quattros that Mr Rohrl used to peddle up the Col d Turini

Even if i was not helping out i would certainly be making this an annual pilgramage, it is that good

  7. Sidc should have a display at a show like this, if the Intergrale owners can muster a dozen or so average examples i am sure we can rustle up a few specials.

Plenty of space available in the hall we were located with the Lancia's and maybe one for our southern members to benefit from

Updated post 1 just to clarify a minor detail

Some nobody creaming his pants, i would like to clear up that this was not Jimmy McRae driving the Grp A Cosworth. The "numpty" in question was indeed moi as Mr McRae was still too slightly tipsy to drive. 5 miles on Knobbly tyres from the hotel to event with 400hp RWD, a history as long as your arm and about 1.7 bar was sweaty hands material but worth every millimetre of sheer panic dealing with a paddle clutch and rifle bolt like dogleg box

If Carlsberg done garages then this would be it

Well worth a trip down to see some awesome machinary being thrown about like they were designed for

  9. Statistically the first 3 years of any charities existance is the toughest. I am pretty sure no one on here wants the Colin McRae Vision to be one of the charities that fail within that period. The money raised goes directly to causes around the world relating to children. Examples of donations inc a kitted out ambulance for Yorkhill, an X-Ray unit in Argentina, a Forester Paramedic response vehicle for Fife region, a substantial donation to a childrens charity in Czech Republic and many others.

The Ayrton Senna foundation started off by selling t-shrts at kart tracks around Rio and is now a global charity that has been going since Ayrton's untimely demise.

Imy and myself do this to help the charity get to a point where it can carry on into future growing stonger and stronger, personally i will carry on till my health dictates otherwise. We receive no payment for attending these shows and even sometimes pay our own way as every little bit helps.

What we need is likeminded fans to help us achieve what we all want and that is for Colins legacy to live on and to benefit children around the world as well as local causes

One thing that would help enourmously is to join the Flat Out club. The benefits from joining are worth the joining fee alone and if you raise money for charity benefits get better and ranging from a unique club clothing, a limited print of Colin in his Subaru or Focus by Fran Healy to the top benefit of a run in one of Colins many cars the charity have at its disposal

For information on what events the charities retail unit will be at and if we will be bringing any cars along will be posted here by either Imy or myself. Any other information about future plans will be posted on colinmcrae.com

Next event is the Borders rally down in Jedburgh.

  10. Gorgeous car indeed, was it running an equal length manifold?

Refurbed the manifold last year and it turns out they are Prodrive S5 equal length headers. Downpipe is Grp A so it must have been one of the first Imprezas to run a twisted and rotated up and down pipe.

Mines was No 1 out of 5 made by Trial for illegal street racing and the 5 of them are together at the start of the 2nd video, all resplendent in thier nifty 3 spokes, which i have grown to like but i am weird that way.

The other 4 are still in Japan, No 1 was the most raw version as the rest were more civilised with heating systems and ponsy things like carpets and a stereo.
